Hi, From the picture, (which is a bad way to view it), it almost looks like a 1747 George the II. Try tilting it in different lighting conditions and look at it upside down and try and figure out the date. Sometimes it helps to look at it from a different perspective. It looks like there is a second "I" and not just one, but could be wrong. Even a partial date can give you an idea if its a George I, II, or III. Nice find though. George

Camera shot is fine, however the coins from the ground are not. This is what we go through in order to identify coins in our poor soil. It's either a George 1 or 2 depending on if you can squeak out a date.
So the pointy end of the boat goes first??? What do I know, I was born a city boy. Good hunting!!
