Token find

I dug this this morning at a old carnival grounds.

Sorry about the pic.I am not good at this Kindle camera.

Went from coins to relics hunt in a matter of seconds. That is why I like the Fair grounds. I dug that tab, has to be the oldest tab that I have found.

Well maybe you will start finding more old fair stuff soon. I am sure one of those heads or tails coins is somewhere around there....Lol!!

I brought the DeLeon/RSD combo and started at the token's spot. I found a 1964 dime and penny.,1946 penny,1969 dime,1921 penny,1936 mercury dime,1951 dime ,all within a 50' radius around the token's spot.

Maybe I am too use to cherry picking. I had to keep reminding myself that it I think I am going to slow,I'd better slow down more yet. The Deleon is my deepest detector.it ain't all that and a bag of chips but it's capable of finding deep coins if you let it.cool, the dimes come out silver, you can see how iron red the 1969 dime is and that was shallower than the silvers.I actually couldn't pin point the mercury dime. All I had was a whisper of a beep and a solid 95 /silver tab display. Heads and tails are good but I am still liking the token find.I'll get back tomorrow and hunt some more.

Looks like you're having great success, and it's good to see that the DeLeon is helping with that success. I've found that by using all the information the DeLeon screen gives as you make repeated passes, then you can correlate the audio with the visual ID information to get a pretty good idea of what the target is not. Hope the success continues, HH

The Deleon seems more stable with the RSD. I took note from the tejon/vaq book and turned the sensitivity down to 7. The threshold set about 1o'clock on the dial.I had the sabre along as I always carry 2 machines. The sabre couldn't pinpoint the dime due to near targets above the dime. I couldn't tell the faint signal from the other stronger signals in all metal mode. This is a good indication as to how well the RSD can distinguish good targets from junk.I am aa RSD believer !

Apparently, I aa stutter when I type. :bouncy:

OK, I found another token. Shell gas station token from the 60's.

How do you duplicate the days that your metal detector is on fire, like the three silvers in a day? You know with the Deleon being digital, it still has the round sound, that shell token was 10" deep and I thought for sure it was going to be a coin when hearing the sound.I hit a coin this morning, dug down 11", the length of my digger deep and it was below that but wedged under two different rocks that I couldn't dig up to retrieve the coin.I used a spoon handle to try bring it up between the rocks but couldn't see it to know where it was. The pro pointer signal was ever so close, that is a heartbreaker.

I dug a ring, looks gold with silver band but it doesn't disc up high,at foil it falls out. There isn't any markings inside the ring?

May have worn away inside of the ring. Sometimes old gold is not marked. It is not dark or green or rusty and it is shiny, I think it is a good sign it may be real. Take it to a jeweler as they can test it

I found it with the sabre. I have the 9x8 coil on it. I need to get it to a jewelry store for I know nothing about jewelry . Thanks for the responses.I need to contact tesoro about the coil as well.it reads lover than normal for whatever reason.

Well I'm still hunting the area the first token came from.I found a few tonight after work.A 1941 penny, 1946 penny, 1961 penny, two 1964 nickels,a 1959 nickel and a 1951 nickel.Odd, the 51 came out silver as is in the picture ? It's a Denver mint, pretty good shape.I'm pulling a bit of iron out, I need to start pulling tabs and more iron and see what coins surface.I pulled the 1941 penny with a big bolt. It never registered as being there because of the big bolt masking it.
