Today's finds at the Fairgrounds

I found so many Barbers at this Fairgrounds that I named it "BarberTown. Heres my take for the day!
The silver is starting to get thinned out in all my "Hot Spots" there...I was trying to see if I missed anything
where I found my last Barber Quarter and dime but no silver...Did find a 1950's wheatback and a part of a necklace and
what looks like a lipstick case in that general area along with some clad but thats all after 3-hours of hunting..I started looking around
and thought I would walk about 500 feet to the edge of the grounds and give it a shot! about five minutes later
I picked up a nice 1892 Barber Dime and another 1950's wheaty afterwards. Spent another hour hunting and
nothing else...Had to head out as the sun was down and My wife called me, which means it's time to go! LOL

I managed to sneak out of the house today after 4pm to do some detecting...I could see rain was coming and I just
hoped it would wait till after dark...I was wrong! Ten minutes into the hunt it starts to rain but I did manage another Barber dime
just before I packed it up and headed home. It's kinda funny, as I thought after digging up the dime I should just go home as
I usually spend the rest of my time for nothing..

Unbelievable spot you've got going there! Congrats on another great silver!

As you know I hunted that place a couple times years ago and if I remember right I only found some Merc's, rosies and wheat's but I did not get over in to the area where you have been finding all the good stuff and I'm glad you found the good area.

I never knew their use to be a fairgrounds there and if I would of known that I would of worked that place alot harder and more of it, lol

oh yea, congrat's on your last to Barber from that place.

No one gets it all and I'm sure I won't. But It will be harder to find those goody's when I move on..I notice already myself
that I have to work more and more every timeI go out. Once in awhile i find and area that was missed or not searched very
well.. You better hurry if you want some of the goody's

and a Long Overdue Indian to!

You know I'm surprised with all the Barbers you have pulled out of that place that you have not found a lot IH's too.

I know! I can't figure that one out....That Barber was on edge at around 8 inches. This is probably why I'm only finding them
and a few easy targets that were missed...

Nice recovery on the silver!............And lots of it!

John in Va

Thanks John!
3-Hour hunt today produced only a flat button, several shotgun head-stamps, and a 1919 and 1905 penny in the same hole!
It's getting harder and harder to find silver every time out..

Started out with the stock pro coil and picked up the 1897-O Barber Dime then the 1936 wheaty afterwards, it was my hardest
target real iffy on edge at around 8-9"....Finally wondered over to a place that I used the pro coil and the X-8 before with no luck, way
to many nails..I was carrying the X-5 with me and decided this would be the perfect place to give it a try. A couple minutes afterwards
and out pops an 1890 seated dime...I got the 1897 dig on video but it was getting dark on the seated so I started up the camera afterwards...

Nothing like finding a seat'd/barber combo!
That old Fairground has been good to you!

Yes it has been good to me Ken and if it wants to continue to keep giving it up I will just
have to keep taking them I suppose..

I got to watching my video and think the Barber was deeper than I thought. I had the AT Pro Pointer
set for maximum sensitivity and it was giving off only and intermittent signal instead of a constant on when
right below the pinpointer....I'm Guessing another inch or so probably closer to or right at 9" is a better guess.
Anyway this video will give the newbies an idea of how the Etrac cursor will bounce around in the Iron range
and back up to the top along with the Fer/Con numbers indicating a good semi Iffy target worth looking into.
It's been just about a week over one year with the Etrac so hopefully another year or less those really really iffy's will
start showing up more and more.Hope the video helps someone out there as the ones I have watched when I first started
out has Helped me...Thanks to Dirtfishing, cutaplug, earthmansurfer69,Nebtrac,ohiodigger,IDigHistoryInIowa,and the ones
I may have not mentioned who's vids have been a "Great Help" for me.

Will Do! Those video's Make learning the Etrac so much easier,

Enjoyed watching your video and i thought that coin was deeper than mentioned. The depth indicator at times also seemed to indicate a deeper target also.

I think we all enjoy seeing oldies dug up especially deep ones. I like when a video shows the detector screen while i sweeping and the settings both of which yours did.
If a picture is worth a thousand words, a video with audio should be worth a million words.

Yeah those bouncing iffy IDs especially at depth. When i first got my eTRAC years ago the first couple times out i did probably what most uninformed newbies do, AUTO and only dug solid 12-hi 30's/40's targets and wondered why i wasn't finding any deep old coins.

Keep up the videos and in no time you'll be in Hollywood!:)
