To all my Friends here

My friends, and fellow treasure hunting buddies, I have stuck my neck out to give you info I felt you might want to know/
but I am about to get my head cut off for it, I can not, and will not say no more at this time. I hope you appreciate that I have got you some info ahead, but cannot and will not lose my fisher dealership, hope you understand, and believe me, soon as I can, you all will be the first to know.
thanks so much
ron

the motorized digger attachment you told me about. ;)

and that you meant no harm to Fisher. If anything, Fisher should realize that after not hearing a peep from them, your post sorta let folks know that they were indeed still alive and moving forward. Your post gave Fisher some well needed public relations help whether they realize it or not. Please have a great day! Kelley (Texas) :)

You did nothing wrong at all and I don't know why Fisher would get upset. There are a lot of companies that have info in the car business come out way ahead of the product. They should let you release bits of info.

If the detectror world was setting the world on fire with new and inovative products maybe it would be a good idea to wait a week before the products comes out. But I have not seen anything new come out that I have not used in the past.

Fisher kind of lost it with its decals and I think the most respectal machine to come out was the T2. The new Explorer or the Edge or the MX6 was not a great step forward.

I think the CZ, DFX,Troy 5, Explorer and the T2 are in the top five of the decade. And then all the great machines from the past.

So Fisher has a lot to prove with this new machine and it has to be real good for it to make money. I keep reading that we are at a point that detectors are not going to do too much more. But I have read a lot of great ideas on the forum and these are the guys that buy these machines. So I hope Fisher is not out of touch with us! They should give Nasa Tom a call...he is the man!!!

Thank you for those kind words! I do appreciate that. Yes, I agree with you on this issue.
We need the detector that will step out front of all detectors, one truly that can reach more depths, and better and deeper discrimination patterns with see thru trash ability.

"THEY" need the Fishers Dealers and current user base, not the other way around. Whether or not they realize it, this is probably going to be their one chance to keep or lose the Fisher users. While some may like the T2, a re-badged T2 or another work alike is just not going to cut it.

Let's call a spade a spade. The CZ's were fantastic machines(I love mine), but the rap was that certain users could not overcome how to correctly ID iron. The digital machines came a long with a new engineer and they C$/Excel/Edge are some of the best iron hunters made.

If this new machine was an ongoing project from Fisher before buyout along the lines of the C$/Excel/Edge there will be some grumbling but people will probably give it a chance. If it is a CZ or dual freq type machine with the better iron handling of the newer machines there will be dancing in the streets, and you won't be able to keep them in stock.

Re-release of an older CZ with new decals, well OK, but not a big sales push.

This will be a very important X-mas for FT/BH/Fisher, the Fisher users are going to find out if it's a bunch of empty suits running the show or whether RJ/TD/BL will be allowed to have some product/marketing input.

Lastly "you" were just trying to create some marketing buzz, maybe FT/BH should pay attention to what Dick Shultz at Minelab did last X-mas. He may come across as a good 'ol boy on the phone, but he sure put a whuppin' on Fisher and White's. That M6 was dead on arrival because Dick's brilliant marketing move sucked all the oxygen out of that whole season for other detectors.

So rather than hide the bloody thing under a blanket, put the dang thing out there in the hands of some old Fisher hands like Bill L or Andy S. Heck Dick S even went and sought out people who were not ML users, in my mind that shows confidence in your design. Will there be bugs? Sure, but the people whose hands you put it in will help work the bugs out, because they WANT the machines to be right. Put them into their hands, and now they feel responsible as part of a team. And those initial users hit the ground running upon machine release, to aid new users via the Forums. Dick S/ML got it right.......will FT/BH???

And yes Virginia, detector users will sign NDA's and stick to them!!!!!!!!!!

I frankly think something needs to be done to get the market in a buzz. We all know the next models are there waiting for Christmas and the New Year so you got the ball rolling. Minelab has done the SE, Whites is not going to be far behind, then the others so good show.

It's a shame if you're really getting into trouble over this. I haven't paid enough attention lately to know what happened other than the veiled detector picture, but I would think that it could only spark interest for Fisher/BH.

For what it's worth, I'm in the market for a new detector and because of your teaser post, I am now holding off for another month or two.

I hope Fisher notices this response and realizes that due to your post, they may get a sale.

THAT IS THE TRUTH we won't be fooled again!

This is my fear. I'm hoping they'll use the aquesition of Fisher to elevate their company to new and higher levels of technology, quality and reputation. Rather than to bring Fisher down to their present Bounty Hunter line of detectors level. HH

Hello lcpm, I totally agree with you. Whats up with those big ugly decals? The older Fisher decals looked very professional and attractive. Why go cartoon? And I dont care what they say. I just cant believe that the M6, the Xterras, or the Edge is all that popular. These companies dont realize that along with performance many detectorists care about the looks of the detector along with the name on the decal. I guess Im old school, but lets have some Eagles, Patriots, Outlaws, Mavericks, etc. again! Happy Hunting!

They are trying to get the new young guys to detect when the number of hunters have been doing this for a long time and have used a lot different machines and are waiting for somthing new and inovative.

Most new guys hang it up, most new guys don't know about the history of an area. It is like fishing you have to know what you are doing to get the good stuff but fun is a big part of it also.

So please Fisher don't think we are going to support if you give us a new edge or fancy decals. We want state of the art! We want to help us find more gold and less trash we want to go deep. We want unmasking and a fast machine that can be used for multy sights and work!!!!!!

So Fisher is a test if they want to make it or break it, it is all up to them. With the forums we can make or break a machine and get it into the hands of a vet and it can be over before it started.

So if Fihser is going to release a dud....Please Fisher don't do it we don't want it and you won't last. Where is NASA TOM that guy is the best WHAT IS UP FISHER!!!!!

If I got you new guys upset sorry but the oldtimers have been around a lot and have a lot of knowledge so I didn't mean to put you guys down. There are always new comers and I was one once as we all were.

Times have changed, more rules less good places to hunt it is getting harder for us to enjoy the little time we have for our hobby. So we look forward to taking a new machine out to an old sight that has been pounded. Give us a deep sliver coin and we are some happy campers and the memories last a lifetime. That is what it is all about Fisher not just money and giving us another machine. What to you pay your techs for!

I am not angry at Fisher, and please if someone writes a review let it ge honest this one Magazine is so pro every company. Are we really stupid or what??

Thanks Lawrenzo/LCPM

Once again lcpm, I couldnt agree more! Dont these companies know that the majority of metal detectorists are middle aged? You mentioned unmasking and a fast machine. Well, I use a Fisher 1266X. It has no bells and whistles. But it has a very fast recovery rate in trash. I find jewelry on a regular basis because I crank the discrimination down low and have a lot of patience (just like fishing). Another thing I have noticed is that a lot of these companies are selling hats, jackets, etc. that appeal to the young. I remember seeing a lot of guys wearing that old black and gold Fisher "trucker style hat" with the gold commander leaves on the brim. Now they have that low crown hat that has a "F" in the middle? I told Garrett recently that I would never buy that bright yellow unit regardless of its performance and features. I like a good, deep machine that doesnt look like a toy! Well, enough preaching,...Best Wishes, DF.

THATS GOOD THING. BUT PICTURE LOOKED LIKE A T-2 UNDER A SHEET WHICH CREATE RUMOR THAT NEW FISHER IS SHAPE OF TECHNETIS. PUT A CZ UNDER A SHEET AN EVERY BODY WILL GUESS THE NASA DUDE DID SOMETHIN NEW. HARD TOO DO WITH OUT SOME FLAK.
H.

M6, the Xterras, or the Edge are best used as relic detectors. They are good detectors, May not be good for you for you type of hunting but they are very good when used for relic hunting.

Not any detector can do it all, What may be a loser to one user will be a winner to another.
