Tips on the MX Sport with upgrade, SAT has been increased as well.

Paul, keep up the good work. You have helped me tremendously. I appreciate your tips and insights. You are not a bad guy in my book! Thanks.

Mine is back in action an everything seems very good! No loss of depth or anything else wrong as far as I can tell. The audio modulation issue would be easy to miss when repeatedly testing and trying to get something fixed in a hurry. When changes are made it sometimes can inadvertently effect something else. Testing every mode in every tone option, with every other adjustment possible can be fairly tedious if doing it very quickly from unit to unit with various software changes. I'll give them credit on addressing the issue fast and working it out rather quickly. My unit is very good, and I can't wait to put it through it's paces for a long time to come.

Paul I appreciate your comments and explanations.. As far as MX sport goes.. Yes a USB port would save SO many headaches.. And maybe save a lot of customers... Also maybe just maybe some of the testers they use can say something other than YES.. Sorry but I feel most problems can be fixed before release. Not all and I understand that but most..

Thank you Steve,

The MX Sport has so much potential, I seen it even with bugs and all.

It'll be a shame it not making in the hands of future potential customers, because of these setbacks at the beginning. Yeah, White's could have done a better job. But in the process they did get some things right, still strongly feel White's will get the bugs worked out and we'll be seeing an extremely neat MX Sport.

Looking forward for getting back my MSP, already miss it.

Thanks again,
Paul

Thanks Albert,

My concern was sharing information, tips and such with certain Firmware. What works with one revision Firmware may not work on another.

Now I'm stretching my neck out for saying this, but I have too because it's the truth. I surely don't want to mislead MX Sport users, which is why I now feel it's best I keep my comments to myself. Until I get a good MX Sport, maybe then will I again share information because other MX Sport users will have the same Firmware.

Thanks again Albert,
Paul

Thanks Stix,

I agree, White's will fix the issues. And the MX Sport is a good detector, It'll only get better with White's working out the bugs.

I too have a Deus, was comparing both last week's after getting the MX Sport Firmware upgrade. Boy was the Sport fast, auctally was scary think if even had an edge over the Deus at a iron ridden site.

I seen what the MX Sport can do as a Relic detector, which is my reasoning keeping an iron grip on it.

Thanks again,
Paul

Thanks Carolina hunter,

I agree, my recent firmware made a difference. Really liked it a alot but I found a bug, same bug White's recently found and corrected. So I sent mine in for the current firmware, looking forward to getting it back.

I too seen an improvement over the MXT, both depth and separation with Relic mode. Can't comment on the tones feature, not into tones only Relic 2-tone mode are all I use. So it's not my place to give my opinion on the MXT Pro tones or the MX Sport coin/jewerly mode tones.

Thanks Carolina hunter, keep up the good work!

Hello basstackelman,

I respect your opinion, with what happened yeck you're intited to give your views.

Fortunately, I happened to find the modes and settings that worked on the first Firmware. Performance was remarkable, these were impressive results so I new then once White's got the bugs worked out the MX Sport was going to be one serious detector. Plus, waterproof to boot!

Later, when the issues are resolved. Try another one, think you're going to feel different from your first experience.

What other White's model did you trade your MX Sport in for?

Take care,
Paul

Paul my favorite whites detector has always been the mxt/mxtpro. I did not click well with the V series.. And I do hope whites gets this handled .on the mxsport. I traded it back in on a minelab.. My heart is with whites and I truly want them to make a detector that sings to me.. They just haven't in a while. Mx5 I had was deep and did very well but the tone issue and the way the tones sounds made me sell it.. I've owned about all whites Detectors dating back to 1978 and always knew when I was using it that it was working properly and I had no concerns.. These days I have lots of concerns.. I don't like sending thing in for repair/recall/test over and over.. Just make a detector, make it right, test the heck out of it, don't use customers as testers and when it's ready for market I will buy it.. Simple really..

yep good read OC, keep sticking your neck out there I for one appreciate it and you other guys also.... this detector sounds like its going to be/is a good one, I might wait 6 months see what happens but sounds like a nice machine  whites has always done the right thing by me.

So people are returning these twice for a firmware update to the original firmware update? I'm so glad that I didn't order one of these. Sounds like it's going to be getting frequent flyer miles with all the trips back to the shop.
me too had my eye on one but went with the deus instead so I came to the whites forum cause im gonna get my son in law a new detector. the guy who gives the feedback on the whites thanks!

A USB port on a waterproof detector would be damn near impossible. However, what I picture is a dongle that connects to the coil connector that accepts a flash drive or SDCard. You could then hit a combination of buttons or something to force "firmware update mode" or something like that.

It would certainly save White's and it's customers headaches for future revisions.

Every time I power up my MXT I see "v1.0" and think - wow, really? There HAS to be some bugs in ANY software that's fresh out of Beta (which is pretty much ALL v1.0). How cool would it be to update the firmware myself?

MX sport issue on off switch defective any body else have this issue, also what is procedure to go to SAT to see if you 6 or 8 settings which indicate u have updated version
Help help help
Thanks

Hello tigerpawn,

Relic, Prospecting and All Metal modes have SAT. Select SAT feature, arrow up until it stops. One Firmware has 6 the current firmware maximizes at 8.

If yours does max out at 8, yet audio modulation is on (1 position) and recovery is slowed down, you may need to send it in to White's for the latest firmware.

Or, don't turn on Audio Mod and leave it off (0 position).

Apparently, a few with this issue were sent out. Mine was one of them, my MX Sport was returned last week. It's ok now, no more issues operates great.

Give White's call, they'll take care of the problem if you're having one.

Paul

mine to has the 8, im not messing with sending it back for the second time, I just learned a lesson.... no more whites for me, they cant get it right the first time then the second im not messing with it for number 3.
