Tips on the MX Sport with upgrade, SAT has been increased as well.

Hello gang,

Received my MX Sport yesterday. Hit an old site and White's worked out a lot of kinks, will share it's very fast on recovery and great on Separation.

Also, Want to share a couple of tips. MX Sport users with the upgrade needing a snappy audio and recovery can run audio modulation feature at 0, running at 1 slows down the recovery a little and creates some tone smearing.

And of course those using Relic mode can increase SAT as this will increase recovery as well especially in areas with mineralization or iron masking.

White's bumped up SAT maximum from 6 to 8, this will help those hunting in mineralization or areas masked with iron. Don't be afraid to use 8 when needed, this auctally increases recovery speed without hurting depth too much, Depth lost is hardly noticeable.

Enjoy the MX Sport!

Paul

Good to know. I'm glad depth did not go out with the baby and the bath water.

My test says it is better then it was but my CTX with the bigger stock coil does just as well in stock settings coin mode.
But I do run the MXS with Audio mod on.

From what was told, if Audio mod on does not effect the recovery and create tone smearing then your updated unit is the most current.

If it does have a slight slow recovery, and tone smearing contact White's and they will upgrade again to the newest update.

Or, run it with audio mod off position (0) and you'll have no issues.

Best wishes,
Paul

Hello George,

You bet! The MX Sport is deep, was afraid some depth would be sacrificed with the latest upgrade but it wasn't.

Auctally, Major improvement over all. Even operates smoother in tough mineralization with prospecting mode.

Thanks old friend!
Paul

Thanks Paul. Gonna send mine in this week.

Hello George,

That's great! Yeah, send in your MX Sport you'll see the difference.

I sent my MX Sport again this morning, apparently they installed the wrong Firmware.....I noticed one feature would create an issue with all the modes when activated, so called the main person in charge and he confirmed it. They had areadly corrected the problem and several units were sent out with this issue mine was one of them.

So rest assure your unit will have the latest firmware, so will my unit when it arrives.

Bummer, hated to send it in again

Enjoy your MX Sport my friend,
Paul

OK This is getting Silly now.
There has to be a easy way to tell if we have the newest firmware EX like on bootup Whites should be ashamed of themselves.

Go to Audio Mod, select ON position (1). If you notice a slight decrease in recovery or tone smearing then your unit has the wrong Firmware upgrade.

Then select OFF position (0), if the unit has fast recovery no tone smearing your unit is the wrong Firmware because both on or off should have the same recovery no tone smearing.

This can be a serious problem for those needing a fast recovery,
If yours does have this issue, run it with audio mod off position (0) you'll have no issues. But, those not aware of this problem and having the wrong Firmware will not get the full benefit of the MX Sport's snappy performance if running with audio mod in ON position.

Best to send it in again to correct the issue in case you decide to sell/trade the unit in the future if indeed yours has the wrong Firmware.

Best wishes,
Paul

Only the programs having the Audio Mod feature, yours may be ok but my unit had the Firmware updated 4-8-2016.

Just compare recovery and tone smearing between the two, audio mod OFF or ON position.

Paul

My MX Sport arrived at Sweet Home yesterday for the firmware update, hopefully they will listen to you and incorporate the changes.

OC, keep up the good work. Enjoy your informational posts on the MX Sport.

Thanks Cadman, and appreciate the help with the recent contact information.

White's already fixed this problem, when I found the problem called the head person and they were aware of it, and had already fixed the problem. Unfortunately, my unit was one of several having the wrong Firmware.

My few conversations with him last week, assured me White's is doing their best to fix these issues. We need to have patience with White's, sure mistakes were made and they are working hard to resolve them.

My unit will arrive Thursday the latest, second trip in hated to send it in again. Could have continued to operate with Audio Mod off position but I feel this issue was also causing problems with the smaller elliptical DD, so I sent it in for the latest firmware.

Whites will take care of these issues, have patience.

All the best,
Paul

Mary may not be aware of the latest, that's all I will say.

So people are returning these twice for a firmware update to the original firmware update? I'm so glad that I didn't order one of these. Sounds like it's going to be getting frequent flyer miles with all the trips back to the shop.

Mistakes were made, White's will work out the issues.

I've tried to help others understanding their MX Sport with problems, Share tips on settings and shared my concern on some of the issues.

AT the end, it'll only make me out to be the bad guy with both White's and MX Sport users. So I've decided to stay silent going forward.

All the best,
Paul

I wouldn't do that I ordered one and your posts are some of the reasons why. You seem to like the detector and it works well. Does it have problems yes. Does the latest batch work.... We shall see. Will whites fix it. Yes. I would continue to post your comments. They swayed me to buy one. One nice thing all new detectors should have is a usb port for firmware upgrades though. That would fix alot of issues for people. Like the Deus.
