Time Spent Hunting

Brian-----We'd be "tickled pink" to find a 200 year old ANYTHING here in the states! :) (let alone 2000 years old)--------Whaaars Larry?---We're still awaitin on him!---------Del

I hear my calling...... My hunting will go in spurts nowadays due to a change in working conditions and life style. If the weather is right and I get a day off work, I will get out for 8 to10 hours at a time but my hunting hours per year are way down from what they used to be.

These are coins from the U.S. East Coast with a dime top right for scale. All well over two hundred years old.

2nd picture is one Spanish silver, couple U.S. and the rest British coins. Plus a couple of mini (we call them musket) balls. Appear unfired and came out the same hole. Land finds from further north up the East Coast.

30 hours a week...did the man say 30 hours a week? Im gone more than 5 hours and the wife wants to know if ive found something worth still being out there lol. I feel your pain on the gas Brian. Its been years since ive was stationed in Europe the gas prices was carzy then and we had rations. Nice bunch of finds from the East Coast.

I hunt on weekends, weather permitting. Usually go in the AM for two to three hours on Sat and Sun. Work the rest of the week. If I have a day off I am out for a couple of hours.

Hi Del...hope your doing well....Good topic... Lets see...... I treasure hunted 201 days last season.....for approx. four hours on the average each day.....that's approx. 804 hrs. ...give or take a little....I had a blast with my MXT Pro... I found ten gold rings, thirty-three silver rings, 67 costume jewelry rings, one gold bracelet, six silver bracelets, three silver necklaces, thirteen silver coins and a variety of other silver finds.... I extracted over 2000 pull tabs and have jars of metal objects, some of which I can't even identify..... Yep, I had an awesome year out MDing and I will do it all over again in the Spring.....:biggrin::thumbup: You just never know what will turn up next...I wish you well and happy hunting out there.....:twodetecting: Roland

Thanks guys! I've had my detector for a month and have just worked out that I have done 85 hours on it. I was starting to get worried that I am getting a bit obsessive about MD'ing  , but after reading the above have found myself in good company so it doesn't matter! Cheers!

Now work for the day is over, dinner gobbled down, time to grab the detector and hit the beach......

Over 2000 pull tabs.....Yeah.....I must have really got bored when the snows started flying ...... Maybe early signs of cabin fever...:unsure::crazy: ....I will donate them to the Ronald McDonald House... I wish you well and happy hunting.......... Roland
