Have to agree worth most of your post except : It was never marketed as the machine that will obsolete all other VLF machines by Minelab, the only place that was being said was on detecting forums by ignorant people who bought into the ridiculous hype caused by other people on the same forum.

You should read this information released by Minelab: https://www.minelab.com/anz/customer-care/product-notices?article=319462 and also https://www.minelab.com/usa/go-minelabbing/treasure-talk/equinox-technologies-part-1
that is my experience as well, and not only just with Minelab. Other manufacturers of detectors have the same issue. I find this to be true with the three brands of detectors I own.

Yeah it doesn't even come close to obsolete single frequency vlf machines. Its all right and for the price id say its good but it does leave a lot to be desired. My advice is dont trust the screen. Ive said that with other machines too but this one will bold faced lie to you .
Does not gold fall into the 11, 12, 13 range? I found a gold ring along with a square pull tab digging a solid 11 on my first outing. Believe me when I say I do not know dink about the language of the EQ-600. Mi feel it was just blind luck and digging a lot of signals

I did read it and it states "obsoletes all SINGLE FREQUENCY vlf
The point I was making is your remark: ' It was never marketed as the machine that will obsolete all other VLF machines by Minelab, the only place that was being said was on detecting forums by ignorant people who bought into the ridiculous hype caused by other people on the same forum.'
Clearly Minelab did market it that way, it wasnt made up on detecting forums etc..etc...
I hear what you are saying but why does it seem like it really is better on gold than the CTX? I am in a quandary about what to do about purchasing a Nox. It sure looks good!
It is way better on gold than the CTX I know a beach hunter and I posted his finds to let people see his comment on the Equinox he said it smokes his CTX or any of his other machines on gold!
This guy will go out and hunt a beach for 10 hours he's good and stated the Equinox makes him wish he lived closer to the shore!

I do agree I have another machine I use but not for beach and its way more accurate than my Nox so the nox will be my water and beach machine it loves the low conductors!

Thanks for proving my point!!

Hmmm, sounds EXACTLY like somebody from my club, even the comment...he's been posting lots of goodies on a private club FB page. Are his initials G.P. ?
There's no need to argue over the exact phrasing of Minelab's marketing hype in describing the Nox. And I don't criticize Minelab for it, either; all companies tend to claim their latest product is the greatest--advertising puffery, nothing more. That said, the very fact that users of the Nox are debating whether it lives up to the advertising hype shows that it is performing quite well for a lot of people. Of course, the Nox is not going to render obsolete all single-frequency VLF machines; but if I were, say, the Deus, which seems to do reasonably well against the Nox in user reports, but at a higher price point, I think I'd be running scared.
