Thursday Morning Early Hunt/Thanks to Jim/Macbeth

Went out super early to beat the heat. I hadn't been out in ages, or so it seems. High percentage of quarters as you might notice. A .925 earring. A wheat cent. Nothing too special. I've had this streak where I've hit at least 1000 coins every month (March-October) for the past four years. That will probably end this month. Too darned hot!

I was home before 7:30 am and there was a knock at my door as I stepped out of the shower. An old friend wanted to go out for breakfast. Over coffee, we decided to hop on the train to NYC and have lunch at Coney Island (Nathans of course) and ride The Cyclone. Total cost was about $100 bucks for lunch after travel expenses. Had a blast even though it was hot as hell and sticky. I wish I'd remembered my camera.

Came home to find this little beauty in my mail. Thanks Jim! Great contest and a very generous prize.

I need to put it in a new 2x2 because the Mylar broke. Luckily the coin wasn't damaged. I'll add it to my brag book tomorrow.

Wow! that's alot of quarters. More quarters than Penny's! Spectacular!!

I went back this morning and evened it out. Only found 11 quarters and 35 one cent coins. Not worth a photo. A new spot and fairly small. Won't be much left next time I go. I'll probably wait until 2011.
