You know how wood chips get wet and frozen on top. Harder to dig that way. I been removing aluminum bits out of a near by tot lot to make it a better hunting environment, and to get some finds. I got so tired of bending over all the time just to move some wood chips, I came up with this Idea.

I bought a $3 hot dog skewer from Wal-Mart. I cut the two forked ends and bent them so they would cork screw into the wood chips. I bent the handle 90 degrees to make it easy to rotate it.

With a slight down force and a twisting motion I can loosen up a 1.5' X 9" patch with three easy twist. It is easy to then kick out a 6" deep wad of wood chips. I mean It actually works. For only $3.

Hears what it looks like.

I can operate this thing with my left hand. Most targets are recovered without ever letting go of my detector.

I do a lot of tot lots and this thing comes in handy.

I need to name it.

How about the " The Tabdog Gold Skewer " ? Or " The Wood Chip Hog " ?

Any suggestions?

although they are a little more beefed up. They call them the "Garden Weasel". I think I would call it something like Canewrap suggested, rather than a Tot-Lot weasel. It might give the wrong impression to children and/or their parents if you tell them you are using anything with the word "weasel" attached :)

Maybe you should have a contest..best name wins one from you !!!

My Entry: " ARKY BARKY"

............." ARHY BARKY ".............

That's short and sweet. That's gonna be hard to top. But with the excellent pool of possible Tabdog suggesties, I will hold my considerations a while longer.

This is a mild stone!!!!...... Me having an idea that actually works:blink: Think I'll call the news paper and see if they want to interview me:blush:

Best Wishes,

Good invention, how about caliing it the "Tabdog Twister". Steve.

I think I'd better go with the Arky Barky.

My own thought of a name might be well known down on the farm,
but mention of porcine anatomy might not be wise at a citified tot lot.

With a bit more thought and development, TabDog's long handle tool could be of great assistance in providing opportunity to individuals who may be wheel chair bound. MD's are light weight enough, now..

You still going to cut off the handle and chuck it in a cordless drill for all those barky digs?
And will it serve double duty over the campfire?

Just wondering -

I just discovered something:blink:

When I bought that Hot Dog Skewer at Wollie-World, it supplied me with more than just a Arky Barky Tool.:) It had two white plastic caps on the sharp ends at avoid puncturing something.

Guess what those two white plastic caps just happened to fit????? Comes in handy on those cold fingers.;)
