This Just In, NEL Sharpshooter

Well-known member
The weather here is to bad to get out and do any testing, but I'll try to get some air test in the next couple of days.

Nice looking coil, it will be interesting to see what it will do.

One thing I noticed is it seems to have a heavy cable.
Maybe one of these would be good on my Omega as well.

I bought a 5 pin Sharpshooter for mu Euro Sabre. Have not had the weather clear for a real hunt, but it works well in my test garden and it will air test a nickel at 12".............Mark

Great improvement on the Omega. Less EMI.

The NEL Sharpshooter is a 5.5"X 9.5" Widescan coil

I don't know if where I got it from is a sponsor here or not, so, I'll send you a PM with that information in it.

As soon as the ground thaws, we are gonna get more snow tomorrow an not above freezing until Friday next week!! It's gonna have to be a few 50 degree days just for the ground to loosen up.........

I get the feeling this coil show a machines true potential. If it has a good stock coil, minimal improvement. If it has more depth, sens, separation possible; the sharpshooter brings it out.
Just my general opinion on the NEL.

Looking forward to a report. I'm thinking of a similar setup with the NEL sharpshooter since my arm is hurting with a big12x10. The stock is just the right weight and curious to the Sharpshooter's weight and better seperation in trash.

HURRY UP AND POST RESULTS!!!!!!! :)

Okay, I've got some starter test, here is the setup.

Coins,
US clad Quarter,
US Clad Dime,
US Modern Nickel,

Disc set to the "L" in foil.
Sensitivity set to just short of the red.

In House Air Test.
Quarter = 9"
Dime = 8.5"
Nickel = 10.5"

Max distance with repeatable dig signals.

Outside of the house I believe I could have raised the sensitivity a little more so, I would expect a little more distance if I did the air test outside with less EMI, BUT! not much more.
