General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

That sounds good, but golly ... I sure would hate to hurt the gator! :sad:
 
I'm not sure exactly what happened there but it's taken care of,I do blame the TV shows for alot of destruction I see in the parks and the local bans that have come down lately,all I can do is shake my head and do my best to represent our hobby..gl and hh guys
 
That's awful. Shame on whoever did this. I'm glad you posted this, what a great lesson. As for blaming "Diggers"??? That's not fair.
 
Blaming the diggers show is ridiculous. Has absolutely nothing to do with this. Just have some dumb people in your area. That's all.
 
I've seen guys do this on the beach too, where people jog and walk and the morons leave huge holes. All we need is some jogger breaking an ankle to make them BAN US from the beach....some guys are lazy and/or just plain stupid....I've seen it in person and one time I told a guy to fill in his holes and he called me an asshole...well next time I see it I'm taking pictures of the offenders and posting it on all the treasure forums and Facebook....sometimes public shaming works...
 
That is so fake it ain't even funny.. Uniform holes.... I have dug thousands of plugs and i never dug one that i didn't have to dig extra... Whoever dug those done it with a purpose........ "To hurt Us,, "Metal detecting family".....
 
Not sure if someone else mentioned this, but did you see trash near each hole? It seems that if this was done by some self-center, lazy, moron while detecting, they would have also left their trash at each hole. I just hope that wasn't the case and wasn't done by a detectorist.
 
OMG! definitely someone has a grudge against somebody who metal detects, a sure act of vandalism. Tread lightly you might get blamed for it if you go to repair the damage.. I would check with parks dept. before you try to help repair it.

yeah I agree looks way to structured, pretty safe to say no metal detector was involved. someone has a grievance of some kind. and made a pictures speak louder than words statement.

This looks like one of those mysteries where we'll never know 100% whether the hobby was set up here or something else happened. Although the circumstances surely make a set up look likely.

One thing for sure, this was not the work of anybody metal detecting.

As others have pointed out, all those intact plugs would never happen with somebody who did this metal detecting. No trash next to the holes is another tell. No detectorist who would make this mess would conscientiously pick up their trash.
