Thinking of getting a V3....

I have been using a CZ-70 Pro for 3 years now and I really like it, although I have been wanting to get a second detector. I have always liked Whites, my first detector was a Di Pro back in '86. I loved it but it just so HEAVY! I've been researching the V3 for awhile and it really seems like a totally different machine than anything out there and cool. Just wondering how it would compare to my CZ and I'm wondering why it has only 3 tones verses the M6 which has 7. I realize it has far more information to offer the user, and I'm assuming that's the reason. Also how would it compare to the CZ in depth? Thanks!

I can't help you on the CZ, but the V3 has 191 tones, I believe, one for each of the VDI #'s. The nice thing is every one of them can be changed to whatever tone you want.

???it has only 3 tones verses???

How do come up with this stuff?

There are 191 VDI's but there are 255 tones to choose from for each VDI. (Actually 256 for setting up VDI tones - 0 = silence. For target tone, overload... there are only the 255, but setting up the individual VDI tones, there is the additional silence "tone").

There is always one on here who has to be exactly right....................Thanks Anne, we can always count on you to keep us on the straight and narrow. We are lucky to have you on here, thanks.......

OPPS! My mistake, I just looked at the online manuel and checked, dont know where I got the 3 tones from. 255 man, thats alot of tones!

Maybe, not sure, but I'm sure I feel stupid! Just ordered my V3 today though, cant wait. Taking it upnorth with me deer hunting next month. My buddy has a old farm house built in the 20's. I went over it with my CZ-70 and all I was able to find were old 30/30 shells and clads, though it wasnt a thorough search.

I can't wait to hear which frequency shows strongest on a deer. I am guessing that it could be any frequency if you are chasing it, but it is more likely to be 22.5 if it the deer is motionless on the ground.

You are chasing the animal and showing 7.5 or 2.5 dominant in both search and pinpoint mode, hear a loud "pop" and suddenly the dominant frequency is 22.5, then congratulations, your hunt was a success.

:beers:

detector is a very serious financial buy. It would help out greatly if we knew that all the brands were
like the Fisher F-75, that could be updated with a new chip. It may have already reached that point break line.
Sooner or later this issue will have to be addressed. Or the makers will price theirselves out of business.
