Headed out after work for a 2 1/2 hour hunt on a local snow hill. That large coil on the ACE 250 sure covers a lot of ground (snow) in a short period of time. Below are my totals.....

What device would you recommend for locating a platinum ring in about 2 feet of soft snow (not in the ground) that we can narrow down to a 3 meter radius?
I lost a ring in a secluded area yesterday, and couldn't find it after i felt it fall off my finger, but I know exactly where it should be (approximately).
I just need to know where to dig!

Unfortunately, I'm looking for a specific article, and if I wait until the sun melts away the snow, it will be carried away by the snow melt as it is on an incline.
Does the depth that a detector can detect to depend on the medium? Does the detection depth increase or decrease if the medium is snow instead of dirt?
Is an ace 250 going to be able to find a platinum ring in 2 feet of snow (not buried in the ground, just the snow). The timing is critical. If it snows more, it will go deeper. If the snow melts, it will move.

I cheat. I hit the wal-marts parking lot Sunday. Most of the snow hills are melted down and I eyed a bunch of change. NOT ONE RING.

ACE 250 will find it. It will still be in the top 2-3 inches.
People loose lots of cash tumbling off toboggans, snowboards and skiis.
