The Vx3 found it's first Indian

Well it has been a while since I posted so I figured that a quick summary is in order for my new Vx3. I found my first Indian head penny of the year with it just last week. Sorry, no photos as it is pretty toasted. I can barely make out that it is in the 1800's, that's about it. Probably an 1877 knowing my luck! Anyways, the cool part is that I found it at a heavily hunted fairgrounds and I know this has been passed over many times. It rang in at a solid 62 with the middle frequency as dominate. It was only about 5" down, but surrounded by trash. I was using the 950 coil over the 4x6 as the area is large. Otherwise I have found a ton of clad, various bits and pieces of old copper, and a handful of wheaties. Nothing too special, no silver yet, but I haven't really hit the honey holes I have. Been saving them til I had a good understanding of the machine. Overall the Vx3 is a super easy machine to learn, I highly recommend it for those on the fence that would like a great all around detector!

:yo: Indian Heads are cool finds...... even toasted.

They are a favorite of mine.

always like hitting Indians

I like those Indian pennies with that pretty green patina, this one looks more like it was dipped in acid. But as always, it is cool to find something with an 1800's date on it!

I have named area of my old park one area I named Indian hill if I want to dig a Indian I go there.:twodetecting::whites::cheers:

I just found my first Indian last night! Its also my first coin found from the 1800s! I have had my VX3 for about a month now, and am hooked on Metal Detecting!
