The Tesoro Cibola Keeps On Giving :tesoro::usaflag::detecting:

I went back over some spots that I detected a couple of days ago. This time I took my time and went really slow. Sure enough, out pops even more silver coins. It pays to slow down when swinging Tesoro detectors. Their recovery speed is blazing fast and can handle a fast sweep speed, but they work their magic when you slow way down to a crawl. I ended up finding a bunch more wheat pennies (1918, 1941, 1920, 1916, 1927, 1910, 1944 ), another 1935 Buffalo Nickel, a Mississippi Tax Token, a 10 gauge shotgun shell. and a toy soldier. I had the discrimination set at my foil cap setting and was able to run full sensitivity. The cat is my helper, he followers me around and sticks his paw down in the holes to see what's there.

It's getting hot!

Nice Mercurys, looks like one is close to a curb strip........ goes to show that the old sidewalks are still a hot spot.

I love all my Tesoro detectors.:) That cat has been tailing me for a few days. He sure is friendly and likes to play.

Yeah, it's old sidewalk. I got a Merc just on the other side of the sidewalk a couple of days ago. I come at them at different angles. It pays off sometimes.

I only had one left I put that in the box as a little gift with the set of headphones I made for a forum member. I can get more but would have to charge for them probably could throw one in on a set of phones or if you are a cat :poke:.

Excellent Finds! I hope that cat finds a good home. I took in a stray, but it wanted outside all the time. Damn animal bounty hunters took it and he died in captivity.
My dog would like to have one of those hats.

I'd like to take him home with me, but that fat cat already has a good home and a great place to romp and play.

I've been away for several days on a fishing trip in Northeast Alabama. I took my Cibola just in case I got some time off from fishing. I detected along side of a creek and found this under a rock overhang. Someone must of dropped it when they were getting some matches out of their pocket to build a fire. I've built several fires under rock overhangs on that same creek myself many years ago when I got caught in a down pour. I'm going back later on when it cools off to do some serious detecting. I talked to a older gentleman and got permission to cross his land to get to an old swimming/fishing hole that's further upstream when I go back. I just bet there's some good stuff there to find. I remember swimming and fishing there as a kid.

Thanks. I sure wished that I had my camera on me. The tree shaded creek has a solid rock bottom filled with rocks of all sizes and is surrounded by rock overhangs. I found the coin about 50 yards upstream from the dam in the picture below. The dam was built many years ago for an old mill for grinding corn. The pool behind the dam is where I learned to swim when I was 7 years old. Those pictures sure do bring back memories. When I was 19 year old, I camped down in the gorge with a friend for 2 weeks and the only meat we ate was squirrel and fish that we shot and caught. We only took flour, dry beans, oats, sugar, coffee, corn meal and cooking grease with us. Fresh squirrel for breakfast and fish for lunch and dinner. We slept in a lean to shelter that we built about 3 feet off the ground to keep the rattlesnakes at bay. Those were happy days.
