The tale of one who flew the bi-plane.......and one who can only read about it.....

I went to school at Spartans School of Aeronautics back in the middle of the last century, 1951 to be exact. The Tulsa, Oklahoma area is pretty windy and it wasnt unusual to look up in the sky and see a light airplane sitting stationary or actually moving backward in relation to the ground as it faced into a strong headwind. They called it "hanging on a skyhook". It was a wierd sight for us young guys with no experience with airplanes. And yes, even I was young once upon a time, although it was so long ago, I dont remember much about it.:)

Funny story, and that's the way stuff happens to me. Seems I'm always the one paying without getting anything back:). Good story.

But it's great fun to stick it to a friend once in a while isn't it? :lmfao:
