The shock, the horror

since you don't like looking at the computer monitor you could take high rez pictures of each after it is completed. that way you would have it captured not only for possible reconstruction but to show all of us too !!! (you know it's all about us, right?)

ha... I actually do have some photos of the displays from last year, once I put them back together I will photograph a couple and post them.

Sorry for this accident - however remember often events that at first seem to be tragic turn out to be for the best. I understand what you said about computers and such but as much to others as to you - I've recently started laying out my finds after each day's hunt (not always that same day but before I separate them) and labeling them with date and place then I take a quick picture for future reference. Since I've only recently started doing this it may go by the wayside - who knows? Anyway best of luck putting your treasures together again.

That is the best way to go for sure... Nonetheless, I still don't have much of an interest in recording years, dates, times, machines used, etc. I just knew based on each display cases layout where each item was from. Maybe after the displays are dropped again I will learn my lesson.

Here is why I have such a hard time putting in any more screen time after work...You would think the four monitors I have would give me a tan...

Somehow it will all work out for the best you can re-do them in some manner and it will be nice.....listen to me it didn't happen to me and I am trying to rationalize it away....:sadwalk:

It will be ok though Gary just lie down and think peaceable thoughts and it will get better.

Breath in 1 2 3.... Breath Out 1 2 3....

This helps too..

Ya know ... they sell digital photo frames that can rotate hundreds of photos. You can load pics of all your finds ... then hang it on the wall. It'll just flip through the pics in high-res color for you to enjoy all day long. Plus, if the digital picture hits the concrete floor you don't have a mess to pick up.

Well, that is a big bite out of the bohonkus! But, look on the good side of things, you still have the found items and whether you can relate them to a specific date and place is secondary to the fact that you DID find them and you have indelible memories that will give you pleasure for the rest of your life! Give your wife a big kiss and tell her all is good!!

Hate to hear about the disaster. I'm sure your wife feels as bad as you do about the hole thing, maybe worse because she knew what it meant to you. Sometimes misfortune can uncover unexpected joy. Wow. That kinda sounds like metal detecting. Anyhow. I hope you are able to get everything back in order as best as possible. I hope you post some pictures of those display cases soon that you took last year.

All true, thanks guys!
