The shock, the horror

Somehow my wife knocked over onto the concrete floor almost all my shadow boxes of coins and relics. All organization is lost as I had it sorted by sites I have detected.
I haven't brought my self to the point I can go down and look at the damage any closer..
So very sad....

It's almost like in the movie A Christmas Story when the mom broke the lamp... But in this case it wasn't done on purpose.

that is a bummer for sure GKMan.... maybe you can re-create them and by doing so remember all your hunts... just sayin'

thanks Marty. and then unfortunately she tried to clean it up herself instead of having me forensically take apart the pile and try to figure it out.

my son and I were upstairs making Sunday morning waffles when it happened. I heard the crash which sounded exactly like shadow boxes full of coins and relics would sound like. Of course that's not what I thought it was when I heard it though... I may just cover the pile with a sheet never look at it again.

Man, so sorry to hear. Just don't bury it all in the back yard like the "shattered major award" from Christmas Story :)

Sorry to hear that.----Wives make mistakes just like all the rest of us--that's where forgiveness comes in!

OUCH!!! :stretcher:

So sorry to hear about that GKMan! That is sad. I bet your wife feels very bad about it too! I hope you can get it reconstructed, or as you said at least you could draw the outline of a body on the floor and put crime scene tape up around it and toss a blanket over it and never look again as you said.

Thanks Guys.. It is bad, since it was a couple foot vertical drop to the concrete, which means I will have to completely redo all of them... I have some pictures of the display cases from last year I may be able to use to figure them out.. At the least like Marty said I will be reliving some hunts from years ago to figure it all out...

Immediate death is the only feasible punishment.

Excellent movie reference. Too bad

So sorry Gary, I bet somehow it was YOUR fault..........

Sorry to hear about that. One thing you could try from now on like I do is to file your finds electronically through your computer/camera and backup Hard Drives. Catagorize each set by year and like me, use XChange2 findpoints, Geohunts, and Waypoints. They help a lot. I also have separate containers for my stuff. It is a good bit of work to go through the process but worth it from an organization standpoint.

Hopefully your wife doesn't accidently blow up your computer hardware with a magnet or something. :hot:

Thanks Angelic.. I do server / IT support for my job and can't stand to look at another screen after I leave work,
As far as all the gps features on the ctx , I just don't use them, as helpful as they would be I simply don't have the time to hook up my CTX to do things like that

Oh cool. Let me know if they have any online openings. Also, the time part is something to deal with.

If I didnt have everything else going on that was part of being a working family man, I would probably be doing what you are.

If it makes you happy then it works. I imagine your role is very important too. I hate that happened to you and you have so many things going on.

It does make me happy, I like to be able to see all of the treasures easily instead of having them less accessible. One of these days I am going to finish my basement and have a treasure room hidden behind lock and key, instead of a corner of the basement....

I'll be the Mrs. feels terrible - breaking something when you were trying to do something nice always sucks. You'll get it all back into shape GK - and it'll be better than before:thumbup:
