Today I went west. You may recall yesterday I chose south. I guess next in line is north. Same story. Five sites along this particular route. Things were good at site one so I never left. Additionally, I had two real nice and polite kids "helping me" for a couple of hours. I paid them in ice cream but one boy really had his eye on the Buffalo Nickel. Clad and other junk:

I always thought this place would produce old coins. So far in 3 or 4 trips only coppers, mostly Wheats. Today my luck changed. About two hours in I found a spill with a 1936 Buffalo and two Wheats. About seven feet from there another spill with a silver quarter, a silver dime, and 1942 nickel. (Not a War Nickel :( ) Found four other Wheats. I went on for a long time after finding the silver and got nothing but clad.

My rechargeables finally died. They won't accept a charge anymore. I think the polarity shifted on them which happens toward the end of their life, or so I've read. Two years worth of hunting. Roughly 750 hours for 20 bucks. I'd say I got my money's worth.

Got an inspiration for a treasure hunting article on the way home. Wrote a bit while sitting on the tailgate of my truck when it was fresh. A very fun and very productive day.

You know you might be right! I kept thinking some kind of snap or button. Now that you mention it I can almost see it.

Thanks!

I have a feeling which ever direction you go you will discover good things.
Your polarity seems quite tuned to this detecting hobby.
Like the variety of coin finds....couple of silvers with a buffalo is very cool.
Again the amount of quarters you find blows me away.....not to mention the consistent nickel finds.

Believe it or not my quarter production is way down this year. Dimes too. Finding a lot more pennies and boatloads of nickels. If you guessed I'm looking for gold, you guessed right!
