The other day while detecting I got into some poison ivy, got a blistering rash on my fingers. But if you want to see some UGLY (hall of fame) poison

I scratch the affected area till the blisters burst than rub the area with a paper towel with a good dose of gasoline. Leave it on while you are working or detecting outside. Wash it off after a few hours then reapply. do the same thing the next day and you should be cured.
WARNING do not smoke or let others smoke around you. :)

It also keeps the bugs away.
Bleach also works but I don't like the smell

I have had poison ivy several times and this worked best for me. i am also cheap so have trouble doing the less hazardous thing and buy a cure from the pharmacy.

My hubby used to get poison ivy real bad.....but now he uses dish detergent and rarely has an outbreak. As soon as possible if you have been in the vicinity of poison ivy......and even a dog can carry the juices on his coat.......wash really well with regular dish detergent for several minutes. It is the oil from the poison ivy plant that causes the problems and the dish detergent will remove the oils and help to prevent an outbreak. There is also some stuff on the market........but I think it is really expensive, you put it on before you go near poison ivy and it will prevent an outbreak.
