The new White's Detector

Thy sead the Water MXT with a TDI ?????? K-House,

I think we all know the BHID is basically a DFX in a case without TID. I'm sure the guts from a MXTpro will fit into the same box with some mods. I was hoping for a lighter package with TID for use in the water and land. The BHID is a beast weighing in at 5 pounds. I know it's been said that the TDI would make a great waterproof salt machine.

I got into this thread late, so you know would be nice for White's to do is start with the old Prizm 5 or 5G platform. Using the 8 tone config. Add an adjustable threshold and ground balance. Make the whole thing waterproof up to 10 feet. Add a new waterproof headphones and still use the Royals too to the same hp jack (maybe?). Some really nice DD and concentric coils too.

As far as the pricing goes, they should start at $550.00 suggested retail. I believe the weight for Prizm's were at a comfortable 2.5 lbs. w/batteries. So 2.5 to 2.9 lbs. would be acceptable and you can hunt for longer periods without your back or arm hurting.

Just my 2 cents.

There you go khouse! I like that too.

I just don't want a 5.5 pound beast to hunt in the fresh water and casual coin shooting. Please make it as lite as possible.........

I'm still new to running a machine and even with all the reading I did beofre I got my DFX, I have my hands full...

But ~

I'd love to see the MXT Pro as is, but make it waterproof to be able to detect in the rain without a care in the world. Even down to 10' in the water might be nice.

As someone who dreams a waterproof TDI in the future would be a great thing.

I know from building waterproof fresh water machines they don't nee to be heavy with tons of power to have success and fun. If you waterproof a MXT I'm positive it will weigh over 5 pounds. Let's keep this thing under 3.5 pounds.

For water hunting once you set the controls your done. Close the lid and start hunting. Search for "lake looter" and you'll see another waterproof machine.

[size=large]the water-proof issue has been addressed for the most part but may be why whites is not pursueing that type of machine. evry claim made on the AT Pro at the start failed in the field. maybe whites is working on that but won't release til they know it won't fail. who knows but whites R&D.

I'm glad you said it. Big let down on the At Pro. I doubt wether either company will discontinue, or at least 'squeeze the models down, and produce what they should be producing.

My only complaint about Whites main line detectors is that they ARE HEAVY!!!!!
Other than that they are great detectors.
