the new vision better than MXT

R-bass

New member
Three of my buddies are willing to sell there MXT for the new vision what do you think

The MXT is a very good machine. Why they would get rid of it is beyond me. As for the Vision, Wait to hear some reviews on it first. Just don't jump on something cause it's new. Give it time. JMHO

Honestly, I wouldn't part with my MXT. Larry has been helping White's with the new "VISION" (in hush hush) and it's one heck of a machine, but I'm not all that into "HIGH TECH". It does go much deeper and it's a 'blow your mind machine'. I will keep my MXT and run with the best. Larry has given up his DFX and loves the new Vision. I am not that "high tech" and will stay with the MXT. I know the new Vision will bring metal detecting to a new level. It's ones own preference. Thanks and also Larry has a Vision Forum here on Findmall. He's in Texas right now for the new unveiling of the new Vision tomorrow (Saturday). HH to all, Nancy

White's are not going to get rid of the MXT. They just have a new detector that is to be the deepest finding machine. Larry is one happy camper! HH to all, Nancy

Hey, more power to 'em. If I had cash hanging out the wazzu I would be in the market myself.

I have no doubt the Vision is a fine machine.

I also have no doubt any gold ring or piece of silver I get my MXT over goes into the old pouch.

What more can you ask of any detector?

This new Vision, Is it just an up dated MXT or is it a hybrid cross between the MXT and the DFX. I mean its got to be some great detector for Larry it give up the DFX. I guess I need to save my money because if it is that good I will have to have one. But I will still keep my MXT, Never part with that jewel.

After looking and reading the New Vision forum I don't think its an up dated version of the MXT but is an up dated DFX, it has no adjusting knobs but looks and sounds like a programmable detector. Nothing I would be interested in........................... I am truly devoted to the MXT...........

Hey all. Had the opportunity to check out the Vision (along side the MXT and DFX) early part of the week. There were three of us switching back and forth, between the respective machines, and there was no lack of appreciation for the two older models. The MXT actually found more goodies... before we were rained out. Granted, all of our time with the Vision was spent learning the interface and checking targets for accuracy at depth but still...ease of use said a lot. If I had an MXT...I would think long and hard about selling it. The thing that impressed us all about the Vision was how easy the interface was to learn and it's accuracy. (Either/Or?) Both! I still want an MXT too.

I thought today was the BIG day of the unveiling of the White's Vision. I didn't think they were out for the public yet. I think Larry has #2 machine from the line. It's a very "high tech" machine and not for me. I prefer the MXT's "turn on and go" type and is still the top in my opinion HH, Nancy

At $1700.00 I don't think I will be asking my wife to buy one any time soon. I don't care how great a detector it is, its just would not be worth the grief that would be unleashed upon me..:rofl: I don't think you will find a better detector than the tried and true MXT. HH Dennis in Idaho

I once made the mistake of selling my MXT to get a DFX. I wanted both, but could only afford one or the other. The DFX was nice, but I found that 3 KHz was pretty much unsuable in my area and found myself using 15 KHz only. Being a "dig it all" kind of guy I realized that I was using a more expensive "MXT" and not really getting anymore out of it than my real MXT. So I sold the DFX. I have another MXT. I will not part with it. That said, I do want a Vision. But I will not sell my MXT to get one. So at this stage in the game, I'll just wait until I find enough gold to buy one.

My MXT hasn't somehow gone lame just because a highly (maybe a bit prematurely) touted new machine is on the market. I've reached the point in my detecting where I'm not so sure I want to be digging much deeper, anyway. And, that said - how deep is deep enough? As to more bells and whistles in the end it's still a matter of signal, decide to dig or not, and discriminate the target by eyeball once it's in your hand. My two cents.

Only been using an MXT since trading off XLT for a few days and finding more stuff than ever. I'll be sticking with the knobs and simplicity indefinately.
Wow, grabbing deeper signals.... pretty soon digging trowels will have to be 12-14" to get to goodies. That's one heck of a hole!

I have been using the MXT since it first came out. I asked myself, would I sell my MXT for the new Vision, my answer NO! Do I want the new Vision? Yes! Eventually I will buy the Vision since I have been considereing buying a Minelab SE for the last few months, but now with the new Whites who needs the detector from down under for deep silver. In my opinion the MXT is the best detector on the market, I don't think any detector will completely replace my MXT but the Vision is like a new generation of detectors and once I buy one I am sure it will last for many years as my MXT has.

Like the simlicity of using a detector with knobs.:whites::tesoro:
Unfortunately not to many companies using this format of setting up detectors.
To bad they didn't enhance the XL-PRO and the IDX-PRO for some of the people wanting some of these features.

Go to the Vision forum read what Steve Herschbach Has to say about the two. You may want to hang on to your MXT.
