The new Cazador?

Anyone know if this is going to be a gold machine? or another coin / relic machine? Surely some info has leeked out somewhere lol..................
Cheers!

nope none really that ive heard all we know is that it will be a completely new machine and that tesoro "listened" to its customers. there was a thread several months back asking what we wanted in a machine so if i was to guess i would say no prob not a gold specific machine. i would guess that its going to have tone id and gb that transfers into disc those two things seem to come up alot so if they "listened" the new cazador should have them. other than that its anyones guess, there was alot of great ideas floating around so we just have to wait and see. i wouldnt expect it anytime soo tho last time tesoro addressed us they said they were not beta testing yet so i would think it will be at least spring 2015 before the release but of course just a guess

Ok mate thanks for the heads up much appreciated.
Cheers!

My gut feeling is that we'll see it sometime in 2014. I'm basing that off the statement from Tesoro that 2014 was going to be a big year for them. Of course, anything could happen in the meantime to delay that. Part suppliers may be bottlenecked. Internal R&D might expose flaws. It's a big deal bringing a product to production and there are lots of reasons that you could easily fall behind. That's probably part of the reason it's been kept a secret. If they announced a date and the specs, do you think anyone would buy their current products? I'm sure sales would suffer. Then if the new product was delayed, people would be upset and it would just hurt sales more. I've already seen a few making statements that they are done with Tesoro because the new machine isn't here yet. It's ridiculous, but it could be worse.

Just my random thoughts of course...

hay when your wife gets pregnant you can't just say hay I want the baby now things take time , all things take time and can't be rushed , I have learned rushing things ruins them , or can lead to problems I bet it may be a very interesting machine

Fisher has a new F-19 metal detector out and there is already a dealer taking pre-orders on it!! I think that Tesoro is forgetting that every Fisher F19 sale translates into a "no sale" on the Cazador. Boy lets get a move on it Tesoro...........spring is rapidly heading for summer and no sign of even any basic info on the Cazador. That just doesn't seem right. There should at least be some info on the unit to keep interest up.Fisher put out a fact sheet on the F-19 two months ago!!! If the F19 looks good and summers here; and still no Cazador.......... I just won't bother with it. I can only wait so long.

I'm still very new using a Tesoro only since late December 2013. Hearing about a new product is always pretty cool. Considering how much fun my simple little Compadre has been the new machine might bring some interesting possibilities. But I have no problem waiting till it's actually ready. I work with new products and ideas now in my own line of work. Sometimes it's years before they get to market properly. While waiting might be a pain, it's usually well worth the time.

i think most ppl are content with waiting they just want it to be right the first time. some ppl like to complain and theres nothin u can do about it. when im ready to buy i will get whatever is available if tesoro doesent have what i need as far as features i will just buy somethin else but i wont have a hate on for a company cuz they dont release the machine i want or as fast as i want..

Many have lost interest and have moved on. Not a single word of communication from Tesoro? Not a picture, not a hey...expect news in 4 months....nothing...nada...dead silence from Tesoro. I don't see how you can consider that acceptable in a world that lives on communication which is just a mouse click away.

Sure people love their tesoro machines, I still have a vaquero and it's still as good today as it was when I got it...but that's not the point. The point is, a while back Tesoro asked their customers to name their new machine....and that happened...and since that time not another breath of communication from the company.

Get a group of people excited about their newest offering and then slam the door in their face and keep them in the dark...yeah...that's a great way to keep people interested in your products. This isn't 1952 where you wait for next years catalog to come out before you can see what changed since the last season...however some still live with that mentality.

Sad deal, but obviously a choice they are happy making, and they don't really care what you or I or anybody thinks about how they conduct their business...so...good for them I guess.

The Sun doesn't rise and set with me worrying about when a new detector will be released. I haven't had a chance to tryout all the older ones yet.:detecting:

I really hope that Tesoro takes its time with the next detector that it releases and gets it right. Making a classic takes time and some thought.

Anyone remember the days of snail mail and then waiting for a parcel to arrive.
Was never a big deal.............

Today, everybody want it now, this instant, fast food detector service.................in this world of instant want and rush society...
have you noticed how many times your food order is wrong, under cooked, taste like crap like instant cardboard. Have you noticed some of the
poor quality products being manufactured, the amount of time it fails or needs costly repair service, how many times people cut corners to get something done and out
the door...customer is waiting......"Yes boss..." What happened to patience? Have you noticed when time and care is put into something to make sure everything is right
putting out a quality crafted product is pure joy to own and use which can be depended upon to be reliable for umpteen number of years. Tesoro is still one of those companies
you can count on...............to produce a number 1 quality product.

The Caz will be out soon enough for those who can afford to buy one. In case you bought something else in the mean time and depeleted your source of detector funds.
get out there and hunt with what you got, you might enjoy it. By the time the Caz comes out, your finds might just fund that new Caz. If you don't like what you are currently using, sell it off when the Caz arrives.

happy diggings

My thoughts exactly! That's why I have decided to wait til a used one comes on the market Like the new Outlaw has done Heck might save a buck or two:detecting:

I have never, and I mean NEVER, come across a company that justifies it's decisions to its customers directly. That is left to the marketing companies for damage control. We at Tesoro asked anyone in the social media outlets, 1 - What do THEY want to see in a detector?, and 2 - have a chance to pick the name. We believed this was the best way to actually get the direct feedback from the detectorists themselves. Did everyone here see the gigantic list of colors, features, operations, bells & whistles, and opinions listed just on this forum? As I've said before, we don't put out a new machine very year just to satisfy the "I need something new" even if the "NEW" is just a repackaged version of the old. I think it's time we address what's really eating at people. Secrets. Why are secrets important to industry. If I came on here in the first couple months of development and told everyone what the machine will be like, do you think the other manufacturers aren't reading this as well? When other companies release information about the new product, that product is already finished. The "R & D Insider Information" is old news for that company. But back to the question. Secrets are only work if NO ONE knows about them. Otherwise it's not a secret.

Thank you. I do not know what all the angst is about waiting for a new machine. I am happy to wait and use my Vaquero in the mean time. If a new machine comes out in a year, I will see if it is something I think I need. If not, then so be it. I appreciate your response and agree with you completely. Letting the forum give the company ideas is a great way to go about the process, but I see no need to let a machine out until it is tested, beta tested, and ready.

I agree with Andy from Hillsborough 100 percent. I will be content using my Vaquero until something better comes along. I'm sure the Cazador will be worth the wait.

Could not have said it better

Is it too late to vote for a name?

How about El Secreto?

Got a nice ring to it.

Seriously, Nathan is right. Were I work we develop processes and products that we keep hidden from people within the company. We were doing 3D printing for 2 years (in another building) before the rest of the employees new we were doing it. The reason for the secrecy? So we could be good at it before our competition caught wind of it and tried to do it themselves. Guess what? It worked.

I understand what it takes to bring a product to market. I personally have designed a product that is now entering it's 3rd year of R&D internally, as we perfect it and chase down a patent. It doesn't happen overnight.

Keep swinging that Tesoro you already own!!
