The legend.

Bought the legend awhile back still in the box ain’t had to to use it yet. My other machines are the teknetics t2+ and the teknetics patriot. Anyone else use the t2 or the patriot before going to the legend? If so we’re you happy with the legend?

I had a t2....original green one and f75 Ltd se.

I have more experience on the f75.

I like the numbers on the t2 better than the f75. It certainly is an easier machine to set up than the legend.....but once you understand the symbols for the controls it is not bad at all

My main beef with them was their faceplate was just super prone to scratches but it was well balanced and only took 4 aa batteries.

When nokta hit the scene here in the US I got the fors core.....it had a similar number tid as the t2 did but was built like some kind of military helicopter control weapons deployment system. Downright overkill on build quality.....but it acted very similar to the t2.

From then on after getting the nokta makro units I no longer held on to my first texas units. And I have had several of them...t2, f75, omega 8000, gamma 6000 and that Eurotek pro...both versions.....they worked pretty good but I just liked the stuff from nokta makro better and have had several different models since getting that first fors core.

I never found much benefit of the boost mode on the places I hunted in with the f75.

The first texas units were my main squeeze about 10 years ago or so.

I too have just gotten a legend....today as a matter of fact....only used it in my test garden and took a 30 minute tour out on my land.

I think you will like the tones on the nokta better. It has a fast recovery speed on the stock settings right out of the box.

If you have never used smf before, it does have some great benefits.....especially on deeper targets...holding correct ID better.

I think once you wrap your head around the control lay out you will probably use your t2 less and less.....like I did when I started using the stuff nokta makro made.

The numbering system of it is gonna take a little time to get used to but the features and build quality of the legend is miles ahead of any of the first texas units in my opinion.

Charge it up and take it out for a spin and give us a review of what you think of it!!!

Thanks for the info. I have had the legend since before thanksgiving but due to working out of town I haven’t had a chance to use it yet. But when you’re only home 7 days a month the chores get behind. I am gonna try to use it a little bit here in the next day or so I’ll keep ya posted.

That's sad.
When I worked out of town.
At least one machine went with me.
Found my best ring ever doing that.
Don't leave your friend behind.
She's good company.

Good advice but Middletown Ohio where I work they don’t allow any detecting in the parks or anything. Their not very detector friendly lol.

Not even the beaches ?
How about old swimming holes ?
Do a little research. Maybe you'll find a popular old pond long forgotten.

I was never much one for asking permission to detect personal property, too much of an introvert I guess. I did have a friend that kept a detector in his work truck and every time he was out at a customers location he would ask permission to detect. Worked quite well for him and over the years he collected permissions to some very nice locations.

The worst thing that can happen is they say no.
Look presentable, be friendly and respectful, offer up 50% of anything found.

That's Eggzakly what I did.
My line truck got me on many permissions.
Even some mansions.
I believe I can honestly say.
I'm the only civilian to detect the Coast Guard station here on lake Erie. Though still had to have an escort.
My big baby. Miss that truck.

My last day as a Lineman.
I just waxed it bumper to bumper and the boom.
A monthly ritual for me.
It looked better after years of great service.
Than it did new.
God I miss my job.
Emergency response was just plain Fun.
Lottsa Big explosions and fire. 😁😆
My favorite part. Was helping those in need. 🤗

You live up on Lake Erie? Man I been trying to get up there catch some of those walleye. Me and my dad had some good trips off of south bass island.

man they must have changed a lot since my wife and i lived in Middletown Ohio, found my best find ever while living in Middletown, i detected all over Middletown while living there

I have a Legend and a T2. The T2 is still my primary unit for land hunting. If you put an aftermarket coil on it, look out. Crazy deep. I have the Legend for hunting freshwater beaches in the water.

Oldkoot how long has it been since you lived in Middletown? I was up here working in the late 90s and everything about the area has changed quite a bit. I would say not for the better either lol.

About 1500' away. Boat dock at the end of the road.
Wife's family farm is on the lake shore.
That dairy farm back in the day was over a square mile. Because of injuries. I haven't been on the lake in years. 😥
