The Gold Key I found Friday (06/17/11)

Well, what ya know ...... !

I took it to be tested and it checks out ! 22K with 45 diamonds in it ........ !!! :detecting: :surprised:

Retail value is between $700.00 -- $1200.00 :hot: :surprised:

This makes it my best ever find. :clapping:

I've not sold it, I'm going to give it to Anne, my wife for all she's had to go through with me out detecting over the last year. She has been very good, but was sceptical about me finding anything of value, and now I have. :inlove:

Anyway, here is a better picture of the key.

Any clue what an expensive key like that is for ?

It's a pendent Jim, it was on a 18k or 22K gold chain I would guess, but I could not find the chain at the tot lot where the key was found on Friday. The Jesus Pendent was also found in the same area, about a foot away.

As much as this Item was found by you I wonder if such an item could be tracked to the real owner.
I wonder whaat one would make such a key for with that many stones....I would think it had a history to somebody that went out of their way to get a key to ? their heart.....
Not aomething the average person has the resources I would think....

Truly great finds. The key is really unique and was probably quite special to someone. Certainly from a $ value standpoint, if nothing else. Neat find, for sure. HH jim tn

No name inside it, and I am not about to go out of my way to find the owner in any shape or form. I did that once and got no thanks for returning the item found, so now all finds are kept and done with as I see fit.

If you think that my attidude sucks, so be it, we are all out to find what we can, and when someone has lost something, we go out and find it, thats what we got our detectors for in the first place.

I guess you could say the same for all the coins that we find ! Do you return them to the person(s) that lost them ? No, heck you don't !

Gosh, I guess I should stop throwing those in the junk bin? Of course mine look like this...

Nice that you live where they have fancier locks! :clapping:

BH -- it's just amazing to me that you find this much gold...those two gold items only a foot apart? WOW. I have yet to find a gold item, and while I usually hunt high-tone coins and not jewelry, I have dug a ton of low-tone junk with no goodies yet to show for it. I'm amazed at how well you pick your spots...

Thanks for that Steve.

Gold will come at any range from 45 - 84 on the Gold Bug Pro.

The Key and Pendent both came in at 50, a solid 50 and loud.

Thanks for looking Steve.

I just updated it too with the finds from yesterday and the clad total.

outrageous find!..if only some id on it,and a fleeting chance to locate the owner!
just sayin!..

i don't think your attitude "sucks" at all!.as you put it!..it was merely an option,IF ,of course, some identification could be found.
if you choose to keep it,then that's your business!.besides, you DID give it to someone!
you gave it to your wife, and i am sure she appreciates it!..in any event,it's a terrific find!..just sayin!

maybe who ever owned it didnt want the key to the heart of the giver any more and chucked it thats what i recon !!

nice find by the way work hard get the rewards :clapping:

leave the poor bloke alone he worked hard for his finds if you cant deal with what detecting is about go find another hobby God has nothing to do with it !!

people like you who give God a bad name work out your own salvation and leave others to do the same!!

putting your values on someone else what would Jesus say about that your a pharisee with your rules and regulations and you know what verse that's in???

so what in Gods eyes is worth more a nickle or a gold key?

hope you track down the owners of the coins you find?

the guy was sharing with us his finds and joy don't come here laying guilt on people guilt is not from God its from you know who so who you really working for?
