The Garrett GTI 2500 PRO

Looks like you did well with the GTI 2500. Here's how it matches up.

Gidday Randwool,Looks really good doesn't it?You know Randwool I had to email "Garrett' for a couple of reasons,One response to one of my questions was the "GTI 2500"is there top of the line detector,And they advised me to purchase the 5"x 10" DD coil to help with the mineralisation we suffer with in Victoria Australia,Also to help with detecting the smaller nuggets,This advise has come from other forum members as well,The only thing left is to learn just how my "GTI 2500" operates and get out there prospecting ay?Thanks for your post mate. Sorry to say mate but the DD's will not detect smaller nuggets than a concentric coil on the 2500. However they are nessasary in hot ground, and I recommend the new 11 x 8.5" DD coil on the 2500. Man, that is one killer coil on that machine. The 10x5 DD is a good coil also but not a depth monster by any stretch.

Here is a quote from Garrett own pages "Because of its small positive detection field, the DD is inherently less sensitive than a concentric searchcoil of the same size, over non- mineralized ground. The Double-D will, however, significantly outperform the concentric coil over mineralized ground. For this reason, it is highly recommended when hunting over mineralized ground commonly found when prospecting and relic hunting."

Gidday bearkkat4160,Thanks for the link mate,I'm going to print it off for future reference,And I'm going to take your advise and purchase the 11"x 8.5" DD proformance search coil for the GTI 2500,(Is it 11"x 8.5" or "8.5" x 11")As I'm sure it will help me with the MINERALISATION which is very bad in place's around the Golden Triangle.I bet there are a lot of people getting great information from these two pages of thought,I know I have learnt heaps,I can only hope it will continue,Thanks again mate.
