The Cortes absolutely shocked me today...

We have an office in town in an old house. I have hunted the front yard many times using a SovereignGT, a T2, a Tejon, and an F75. I have had the SovGT longest and have hunted the yard more with it and with the T2 than any of the others. Today I had about 30 minutes there and I had the Cortes with me. First I hunted about 5 minutes with the 8x9 coil and found nothing. I changed to the 5.75 and immediately began finding things. Two wheaties, two memorials, a house key, and one pulltab. This area I was hunting is infested with steel crown caps. The Cortes work's in them with absolutely no problem, it just ignore's them completely. The Sovereign will have you dig every one of them and the T2/F75 will pertty much id them but I still dig. I do not remember how the Tejon acts in caps but I will never forget how the Cortes handles caps!

I was shocked to find two wheaties in just a few minutes! I am going to re-hunt the whole place with the Cortes.

I am going to buy either a 7" or 8" coil for it, maybe both; one concentric and one DD.

FWIW, I now have 6 machines, selling two getting one more. I am settling on the F75; Cortes; Tejon: Explorer SE, which I just ordered. I think with this stable of detectors I should be able to hunt any ground and hunt it well. Find the easy stuff right away with the F75, which is a very fast machine. Then work the hot spots with the Cortes. Then go back for the deep stuff with the Explorer. The Tejon is my choice for relics in the woods.

Go Cortes!!!!

The SE works tops on the trashy sites and is both fast and deep it would be my number 1 choice on iron infested and trssh sites.

I like the 5.75 coil, and I need it for the trashy area I been working. I probably won't be using the stock coil for awhile unless I get into a clean area.
