That 1838 large cent I found last week... I cleaned it...

they say you should never do that to an old coin but I sure can't see why. Old coppers always look so crappy and most of them aren't worth much anyway. What difference does it make if you never intend to sell them anyway??

That one is a real beauty. Looks like they got it new at the bank and walked out and planted it where you found it. Probably won't ever find a nicer one than that. Bob
