One morning you are going to find out that Tesoro has been sold. One new release in how many years?????. Other companies release at least 1 a year because they listen to their fan base......The Outlaw......What does that tell you. These people can blow smoke all they want, the writing is on the wall.
I don't smoke but I have to wonder what makes a company better because they come out with a new model every year. I believe in the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it, what can these "other" brands do that a Tesoro can't, other than have a buch more useless options and cost a ton more.I have been detecting for almost 30 years trying all different brands & models and always come back to Tesoro because they work and for me they put the fun in detecting. To each their own but I happen to think that Tesoro has done a great job and will be around a very long time.

[size=medium] I always get a kick out of the predictors of demise. One group accuses Tesoro of using "20 year old technology", then we have you, who uses the "one a year release" reasoning that will spell the demise of the company. Now I was never good at math but it seems based upon your reasoning, Tesoro started falling behind the times 19 years ago and the writing has been "on the wall" ever since! Why are they still here? I have owned many detectors in the past 40+ years. One comes to mind, the White's MXT. I bought it in 2004. True, White's has brought out some nice new models yet the MXT remains very popular and is the #1 detector used in Gaines, Alaska. WoW; 18 year old technology! White's couldn't figure out how to improve the VLF technology, so they offered the detector with a larger coil. You can add a larger coil to any detector and get the same results. The larger coil goes deeper on larger objects and miss smaller objects.
Visual displays and even multi-tones are still probability at best. Old can lids still showed as a quarter on my MINELAB SAFARI. I sold it by the way and bought TESORO LOBO. Any one knows the "halo effect" will fool any VLF detector; coins on edge, yadda, yadda, yadda. Sure, there are some things I would like to see Tesoro come out with.
In the interim though, I guess I'll just have to rely on experience and intelligence.

For those of you that say Tesoro doesn't listen to their customers how do you explain this
