Headphones are a necessity, I've been using them since my 2nd & I've only been detecting about 4 years! As long as you have been swinging, I am amazed you've been using the tiny speaker still. I would go back over all the spots that you DIDN'T use headphones on & see what you missed. I imagine quite a bit. You learn something new every day

I never detected a day in my life without a set of headphones. I was comparing the Killer B's Wasp headphones to the detector's speaker. I rarely get to hear the detector's audio without them. I was pointing out how important it is to have a good set of headphones. I've tried different ones, but the Killer B's Wasp seem to work best with my Tesoro detectors. Monte put me on the right track from the get go or shortly there after when he recommended them in one of his post.

I am using for Tejon 150ohm Gray Ghost NDT a for Vaquero too. I can hear the mouse little back I suppose.
