Tesoro Royal Sabre

Hi,
can anyone help with this machine???
Does it have a ground balance?? or is it pre set??
What does the knob "Blank Depth"means???

The Royal Sabre used preset factory ground balance. Blank depth meaning 'surface blanking' allowed you to ignore the surface ground strata from 1" to 4". Using this allowed you to concentrate on possible older, deeper coins. The Royal Sabre was the only Tesoro detector to do this. The only others being Garrett and Bounty Hunter(CX III,GTA(X)1000,GTI 2000,2500 and Big Bud Pro(SE),220(D) select...respectively).
I believe the Royal Sabre came out around 1986 or 1987. A very nice coin detector of it's time and still used today by some.

If you can get one these for a low price...go for it!

This was the follow up to the Gold Sabre but had more depth and a sharper target response that suited my hearing far better.
Only trouble with surface blanking was that it didn't just blank the surface you would also miss coins at a deeper depth below rubbish that had been blanked that without the blanking on you might have picked up and some good items in the top few inches of soil.
One of the better machines of its time though.
