Tesoro Put The Super Seven Coil Back Into Production

It would be nice to have a 4 and 5 pin version.

Anyone else interested in one?

Tab excuz my ignorance WHAT IS THE SUPER 7"

Gunnar it has a thin profile like the 5.75 inch coil but it's 7 inches in diameter. Tesoro made it for the Shadow X2 detector.

That's a Troy coil, don't think Troy would allow them to produce without compensation..........................
Troy missed the boat, he could have made a ton of them and sold them for Tesoros. But, then again Tesoro probably then wouldn't make them
to compete against themselves. Who would buy an optional Tesoro coil, When a customer could do better with a Troy coil.............Maybe they should have hired Troy.
A bit too late now.

The 5.75 concentric coil is probably a mini Super Seven.

I would like to see the super 7 on a compadre

Gunnar,

Back about 14 years ago, a fellow by the name of Ty Brooks (Tesoro field tester) modified an Amigo ll with the Troy Shadow Super Seven coil, he called it the "Shamigo"

The Amigo ll was the older version of the Compadre with a 10khz operating frequency instead of 12kHz of the Compadre.

There was quite a bit of talking about it on the old "Carl's forum" sort of a David V's Goliath type of comparison to the other high dollar detectors of the time.

I was lucky enough to purchase a nice Super Seven coil about 5 years ago, if you look at the classifieds, they sometimes come up for sale.

I believe you are correct. I have a seven inch Troy labeled coil for my Troy X5, might be the same design, not certain. I know it's a very good coil on the X5.

YUP ! I love the seven inch coil on my AMIGO II that's the main reason I got it besides fact its forerunner of compadre.

Troy X5 was made by Fisher as well as the coil

I wouldn't mind having a "Super 7. However, I have several 7" concentric Tesoro coils I use a lot and I put off adding a 5.75 coil for a long time because I was not certain whether or not there'd be enough difference between a 7" and the 5.75 coils to justify having both. At this posting I'll say I enjoy swinging the 5.75, but not sure it's any great shakes preferable to the 7" concentrics. Maybe slightly better in tot lots and around playground equipment etc., but having both is a bit redundant.

I have a 7" coil on my Golden, and it seldom leaves it....I bought the coil from the Tesoro dealer here (Aus) several years ago...I believe that the coil had been around in his storeroom for a while, but they weren't being advertised by Tesoro.....it's black in colour, concentric and works like a charm....as I said, it seldom leaves the Golden Umax.

Ive been lookin for a super 7 inch coil for ever for my X2 cant seem to find one guess ill have to buy anoth X2 just to get one lol

I put a Super 7 coil on my Golden µMax in 2003 and the only time it's been taken off was when I sent the Golden to Tesoro a few months ago to have the mode switch replaced. It would be nice if Tesoro still made them, but since they were made to Troy's specifications for his Shadow X2 it could be Troy has proprietary rights to it that prevents Tesoro from making any more.

How much superior are these Super 7'' Coils over the same size Tesoro Concentric coil ??? i have the option of buying the Tesoro version at a very good price but the Super 7'' are ultra rare over here in the UK,infact you would have more chance of finding 'Rocking-horse manure' than a Super 7
