Tesoro pinpointing problem, help please

Hi again folks. Can I start by saying thank you to everyone for their help and advice, this is by far the best help I have recieved on any forum for this problem, and I find your help invaluable. I was out for the first time today with the Cibola at Linlithgow palace(near Edinburgh) I didn't find much but had a great day out with some stunning views of the forth bridge and palace, google Linlithgow palace and you'll see what I mean. I think I'm going to get on with the Cibola, it seems like a great machine. Cheers again. Alan, in Scotland. HH

I am far from being a heavy hitter. thanks for this post. We do need to change the first paragraph in the manual under pinpointing. It is not correct. You do need to move the coil to pick the target up. It will retune itself back to a threshhold.
I will correct the manual.

Big enough hitter for us. Thanks

Everybody get out your red pen and fix your manuals.

It is my job to help you guys out! I do not sit here and read the manuals day in day out and its you guys that bring me to the corrections. Thanks for bring it to my attention.

There is one of the Tesoro people who frequents this forum. He may not have done so since this thread started.

Maybe I am missing something, but it seems allcav is from Tesoro and he admitted we found a problem with the manual and he would correct it. He has posted 2 times this page. Please see his post above.

Thanks

Thanks Ron in WV for that last comment.

OK. I'm new to the hobby and to the forum, and already I don't like some of what I have seen in this thread and others. I see insinuations. I see "cryptic" comments. I see others fail to give someone their due. If someone can't be man (or woman) enough, or brave enough, or have the cajones (rhymes with Tejones) to refer to someone by their name, and to give them credit where credit is due, don't bore me and waste my time with your snide comments.

I joined this forum to learn about metal detecting and Tesoro detectors. I have learned a lot in a short time. I have already learned so much from so many people on this forum, and some have spent quite a lot of time helping me. What I don't need are juvenile comments, cynicism and jealously ruining something that is good and productive.

If someone is obviously wrong about something, point it out nicely, but make sure it isn't opinion. Everyone has an opinion. Be smart enough to use facts.

Old saying: If you can't say something good about someone, then just keep quiet.

Thanks to those of you who continually help ALL of us.

I went to the Tesoro web site and sent them the question, motion or non motion in PP mode for the Cibola. It is Sunday so I don't think I will hear anything until maybe Monday or Tuesday. I will post their reply when it comes in.

WV62........If you used the "Contact Us" method and subsequently support @ tesoro.com, but still haven't gotten a reply, try again, using this address: http://robert@tesoro.com This one goes to Robert Martensen. Alternately, you could call Tesoro at 928-771-2646 and ask for Robert Martensen or Rusty Henry, who has been their Service Manager for 20+ years.

ToddB64 thank you for the contact information, but Robert Martensen did get back to me. The reason I didn't post his reply was because it was pretty much the same as he posted above.

Thanks again,

Wow! in my post that got deleted I wasn't serious about your name, I was being humorous, I saw your name in your signature area, then just below it is your email address, robert@tesoro.com I really didn't mean anything by it at all (Really).
I guess I've not posted enough on the Tesoro forum to push any humor, it doesn't go over very well.

Sorry for the bad humor!
I'll move on where its a little more on liter side.

Support email doesn't always come to me. Please try my direct emails if you are trying to get a hold of me or even if you have a question for Rusty, I can relay it!
