Tesoro Outlaw Unearths Sunrise Gold :tesoro::usaflag:

I got up real early this morning to beat the heat. I arrived at the site around sunrise and started swinging the Outlaw with the 8 inch doughnut coil attached. About the forth or fifth target, I got this full deep sounding mellow soft tone. Yep, that sound put a big smile on my face and got my heart to racing. I dug down around 4 inches or so and unearthed a beautiful 1970 gold class ring. My first thought was it's going to be all down hill for the rest of the day.:) I detected about another hour and called it a day when the mowers showed up to cut the grass. You can see the settings in the picture. Normally, I can run the Outlaw wide open on the sensitive and not get any chatter, but today I had to back it off some to get it to run quiet and smoothly at this site.

I'm telling you guys this Tesoro Outlaw is the real deal. It's deep, it runs quietly, it's light as feather and has a real pleasing audio tone to listen to.

Also, it hits super hard on gold rings and nickels and does a great job finding deep silver coins even at a high discrimination setting.

I...I...I..:puke: I would love to type a most powerful swear at this moment, but will refrain from doing so and let you use your imagination! I also got up early and got out...something told me I should forget the beach and hunt the dirt..It could have been me picking up on your esp signal as you found that monster! Anyway, I did not listen to my inner voice since its proved to be an untrustworthy counselor in financial matters etc. Sheesh..You Tesoro guys get the gold steady. Nice work there Tab!:clapping:

Good job tabman...

I lost my 1970 classring in Kansas, years ago, so it's not mine , wish I could find mine. That is a great find. Are you going to return it? I've found 8 or 9 class rings and returned all of them except one and made most of the owners a happy camper! The ring, it looks to be good sized, probably in the pulltab or zinc range of conductivity, nice chunk of gold.

There are initials, but no school name to connect to dots. That's the third class ring that I've found with no school name on it. Maybe it's a middle school ring.

I did show it to the principal of the school where I found it, but she wasn't familiar with that class ring. So, it looks like I'll be keeping it.

Congrats on the gold. How deep are you finding targets and what type of targets?

The deepest so far was a wheat penny, that I found with the Outlaw, was around 7 inches deep using the 8 concentic inch coil.

It was solid but a faint tone, because of the modulated audio tone response. I don't like keeping the threshold set high in order to get a louder saturated audio tone.

I keep my threshold set most of time where I can flip over to all metal if I want to without getting a loud blaring sound from having set too high.

I heard from a very good source that the Outlaw hit a silver dime in a coin garden at 8 inches deep using the 5.75 concentric coil. I still want to see it though. :)

Nice job! With that many Tesoro's, how do you decide which one of them to use?

That's a very good question. It depends on how I feel, what I'm looking for and what site I'm detecting. The ring that I found today discriminates out between nickel and modern (Coke) pull tab at a site that wasn't too trashy. I had the Golden

Mud I was thinking about you this morning when I was taking a picture of the gold ring gleaming brightly through the mud in the early morning light.

I'd love to have some of your cooler weather to detect in. It's has gotten really hot and muggy here. Now, when winter comes, I'll change my tune.:)

Very nice ring :)

Tabman, 82 with humidity is hot and muggy for us! I don't think you would like our winters, I know I am starting to get sick of them!

What a beautiful ring!
I have found 3 large class rings with 3 different detectors, (all 3 were zinc signals), but the two that I found with my Vaq and my Compadre definitely did have a different, mellow, sweet full sound like a quality bell and made me stop and take notice both times before I dug them.

That is the one distinct sound I always am on the lookout for on every hunt, and even though it is a rare thing it is very addicting and I can't wait to come across that sound again.

Thanks! Yeah that sound is nice to hear. Sometimes I just listen to if for a minute or so before digging.

Nice ring. Still looking for my first gold ring with my outlaw. Going gold chain which was nice. So almost there.

Great find Tab.... I see you also manage to find almost as many pencils as I do, mine are usually about an inch long, and they hit hard with the Bandido II uMax
