Teknetics and Fishers

Are they brothers, cousins? I used to work at a GMC dealership. Some of the trucks would accidently have a chevy tail gate......made at the same plant only different trim....

They have different software and a different display screen but as far as hardware I think it is the exact same in a different color.

First Texas Products, as are the Bounty Hunter models. Same batch of current engineers and lead engineer (Dave Johnson) and some share the same electronics (such as the Fisher Gold Bug pro and Teknetics G2), while others are very similar in many ways. Many work at the same frequency. The physical packaging is also similar with some models, such as the F75 and T2, and the Gold Bug SE's and Gold Bug Pro's and the Teknetic's Gamma and Delta models with similar-shaped S-rods and control housings.

Still, when you view them all, while they might sometimes appear similar or work somewhat similar, they are not the same as there are differences between some of the circuitry designs of each brand. The Fisher F75 works as a multi-purpose model but is catered more for the coin-hunter, while the Teknetics T2 seems to appeal more to the devoted relic-hunter.

At General Motors, the small pickups GMC,Chevy and Buick were built on the same assembly line, which included the S10, S15,Blazer,Bravada,Typhoon and Cyclone. The full size pickup Chevy and GMC 1500 ,2500 and 3500 series were made on the same line,YEP someone every once in a while would read the manifest wrong and put a GMC front grill on or decals on a Chevy. This saved cost to build on the same platform.LOL the S truck plant manager was fired his ex girl friend ratted him out it was said he had stolen Cyclones and Typhones in his garage. He ended up working for Toyota where the Coloroda and Tundra was made on the same line joint GM and Toyota venture.
