But the actual town of Edgewood was in it's heyday in the 1890s to the 1950s. When the B.C. government decided to build a new dam at Castlegar, this meant that the old towns along the lake were to be flooded. Most just moved to higher ground. But when the lake recedes, all the old foundations and building sites are visible. That is the best time to go searching. The old Edgewood site is only 10 minutes from my home. Burton is only about 30 minutes and that includes the ferry ride.
