T2 finds terrific relics--T2, still one of the best detectors out there -- :teknetics:

Julien, good advice. Like you I am always going back and hunting over places I've been and trying different settings. I will try those you suggest, thank you. Adjacent to this site I am in now is a large corn field where many many have detected in the past. The owner is very kind about letting folks detect. Needless to say many guys avoid it as being "hunted out". Earlier this year, around May, I was in the field and recovered a very large, very silver 1793 8 Reale coin in perfect condition. It was 9 inches deep. How it was not found by someone or hit by a farm implement in all those years it was in the ground I do not know, but there it was and, to me, it proves definitively that no place is ever "hunted out". Cheers,

Agree with Utuk Xul. It kind of depends and add to his observations that the signals will be affected by how wet or dry the ground is. I have learned, at least in the area I am hunting right now, that any signals above 35 are worth digging if they are at least 6 inches deep. If they are shallower than that I usually will not dig anything below 44.

I tried my T2 for the first time last Friday. I was also using my MXT Pro. Both machines performed well and I ran the T2 hot - no problems even with it being new to me. The farmer told me the field had been, years ago, "hunted a lot." I found over 30 CW bullets, a cap box finial, and a rifle butt plate.
