T2 delta pitch

Does anyone here ever use the delta pitch setting on the T2? Any advantages? Is there any reason why this setting would ever be useful? It seems like some kinda frantic cacophony, so much so, i have a hard time discerning what it's trying to tell me..... any advice?

It gives you a different tone for pretty much every number up and down the line.
Might sound like a bunch of noise at first but listen long enough and you start to match up targets with specific tones.
Those there are good at this can tell dimes from quarters every time...plus a lot more targets like that.

Plus it can have some pretty amazing unmasking abilities if you learn to understand and use it in conjunction with the right settings.

None of the tone choices on this platform are installed on a whim just to confuse us, all were deemed important and useful by the designers and then users have explored and taken them to extremes to really get the most out of them.
Maybe even more than the designers thought possible.

Just another arrow in the quiver, a feature that has had great benefits for many that have learned to use them.
Way more about DP here...I am pretty sure it would work the same on a T2 with comparable settings.

How would being able to tell a dime from a quarter be an advantage when you can do the same with the number i.d.?

Only tried Delta Pitch for a very short time duration,i found that it just overloaded my brain and took the complete enjoyment out of detecting,so stopped using it.Also my Deus has a similar audio that never gets used either.

That was just an example...not sure you're seeing the big picture here.
Learning to ID targets quickly and accurately by tone alone can have some great advantages, on units with screens and not just those that don't have one.
Not counting the unmasking ability it can be faster, more efficient, dig more targets in a given time.
Plus you can get a sense of all kinds of other targets just by the tone.
To some the tone is much more descriptive and accurate than what they see on the screen.

There are many that only use DP for a lot of reasons...mostly because it works better for them than any other way.
Others tried it and did not like it at all and will never use it but that is fine, too.

Takes practice, I have been trying to learn it a little at a time for three years now, glad I put in the effort now because it is starting to pay off dividends.
But, like other tone features on these things, it might not be for everyone.
Always find a way that makes it more fun to do this hobby...for you.

I've used every tone on my patriot and the dp is my go too. I do use the others some, but I wouldn't have bought the Patriot without it. I used the 99 tones and all-metal mode 85% of the time with the xterra 705, before I went to the new and lighter Patriot. The jury is out to see if I will be as successful. I do feel confident so far though. HH

I agree! ....I'm an outsider to deltapitch as I've settled on 2+ tones for 99 % of my detecting. The problem I have with deltapitch (more experience with deltapitch might correct me on this) is there are 99 sounds but each one is unchanging. So you get a good idea as to the makeup of the metal but you don't get the myriad of other cues that come with 2+. Like weakness of tone can tell you depth and you can get good clues as to size too. The infinite tones of the two pitches is the secret. I think the triumvirate of 2+,VDI, and turning the DD coil 90 degrees gives the T2 an advantage over most VLF machines.

It all works, it is just what you like and get used to.
I used 4H for the first several months and found stuff.
I tried 2F tones in the the woods next and I found stuff.
I switch to DP a lot now and find stuff.
Most times nowadays I use monotone in disc or all metal because in my soil they seem to work the best...and I find stuff.

Everyone hears things and processes things a little different so it is great we have all these choices on one machine.

If I understand this correctly, you are using your detector like you would a beep and dig detector. I have a T2 so I must try this more often.

Tones are always important in my life but I have the screen on a few so I might as well use that too.
Sometimes, because I use monotone and all metal so much, the screen info is even more important than the tones on some settings under some circumstances in my strange dirt.

Some have a screen but never use it, some only rely on the screen but so much weird stuff happens out there I believe the higher percentage way is to learn both and use both...but that's me.
