Thanks to everyone that participated in the survey. I am going to remove the "sticky" and let it run it's natural course. HH Randy
Oh the dog-days of summer! Crops are too tall to get in the fields and lawns are too dry to attempt digging holes! :veryangry: So I spend time researching places to hunt this fall and thinking about detecting. One of the things I've been wondering about is the coil selection for the X-Terra series. When the 305, 505 and 705 were introduced, several X-30, X-50 and X70 users asked if they could purchase the new model with a different stock coil. Some even asked, since they already owned an X-Terra, could they purchase a new model without any coil. So I asked Minelab. I was informed that the 9-inch concentric at 7.5 kHz was part of the the standard package shipped to all US dealers. However, dealers could make substitutions, at their discretion. I noticed a couple folks posted that their dealer was willing to substitute for the stock coil. I've also noticed that most everyone has their favorite coil. Either that or you just don't mention it when it is the 9-inch concentric at 7.5 kHz.
This got me wondering.....
1. How important was the number of currently available coils, when purchasing your X-Terra?
Did yours come with the stock 9-inch concentric at 7.5 kHz?
2. How many coils do you have for your X-Terras?
3. If you were the owner of an X-30, X-50 or X-70 and also bought one of the new models.............
a. given the choice, would you have chosen a coil other than the 9-inch concentric at 7.5 kHz?
b. If so, which coil would you chose as the stock coil with your new X-Terra?
4. If you were the owner of an X-30, X-50 or X-70 and have not purchased one of the new models..........
has receiving a duplicate stock 9-inch concentric at 7.5 kHz kept you from buying one?
5. If you were buying your first X-Terra, having read the posts on this forum, which coil would you chose for the "stock" coil?
b. If it didn't come with a 9-inch concentric at 7.5 kHz, would you likely purchase that particular coil at a later date?
If you don't mind taking a few minutes and posting responses to the questions that apply to your situation, I'd appreciate it. HH Randy
