Surprise Tesoro's new DD Search Coil

Well.... As excited as I am about this new coil, in the videos where he compares the new DD with the concentrics, the demonstrator is definitely NOT swinging the DD coil as fast as the concentric coil. You watch it and I think you will agree with me. He practically WIPS the concentrics across the board, and while he brings that new DD across the board pretty fast (and it is impressive), I don't think he is doing a similar comparison with swing speed. Just my humble opinion.

That being said, he does demonstrate that the new DD gets better depth n the silver uMax, which makes me wonder how it will do on the golden uMax. Maybe we can see a demo with this new coil on the Outlaw?

To be fair to the 8" round coil and its depth capabilities the new DD coil is larger so you would expect some more depth out of it.
I think they increased the size and shape to match those being made by other manufacturers. And I bet the European market had something to do with it................
Now all they have to do is make a smaller oval DD coil.

my ex wife used to have the board of pain , oh did I just say that out loud

nice coil I want one and the smaller one then the new machines they go on I recon there is more than one thing coming maybe we all might get a shock, drip feed carrots they have been hanging around with minelab I think :poke:

Answer can be found on the Deeptech forum.

In a nutshell I did get rid of it, it is a great metal detector, reluctantly sold it. I stil prefer to hunt with a beep and dig with knobs and switches over a target digital ID machine with countless options, settings, menus, touchpads.
Found I was fiddling more adjusting and playing with settings than actual detecting. I did get rid of a Minelab Musketeer as well because I rarely use it and prefer a Tesoro.

"Good news! It's light weight.
Without the coil cover it weighs (0.9lbs) 14.4ozs. With the coil cover it weighs 1lb (16ozs).
By comparison the 9 x 8 concentric coil without the coil cover weighs 13.4ozs and with coil cover it weighs 15.7ozs
These weights are with the short cable.

Presently there are only a limited number of them available for sale."

So if you want one better make that call to Tesoro, pronto

I would be interested on knowing the comparison of this new coil from Tesoro to Detech SEF 12x10 coil and would they be similar?

I am thinking this is the ole cart before the horse trick....... I imagine the horse/horses will be coming along soon.

Hi,,,,It's kinda refreshing to see a little wiggle coming out of the Tesoro camp.....I'm assuming this will be the stock coil on the new upcoming Tesoro Cazador....JJ

fingers crossed hey new tech and both 4 and 5 pin so we may have more than one caz

now who can I hit up for a loan :jump:

To me this is more than a little wiggle it's a shaker ! I wasn't planning on buying anymore detectors or coils period but I'm thinking with that area coverage and rapid separation I would like one for my Vaquero . Some of my sites are very mineralized and trash laden so my 9x8 concentric doesn't see a lot of action and the 5.75 Widescan is my go to . I was really amazed at the speed displayed on the video . Nice work Tesoro .

I am not sure I would want to see a large coil like that swung as fast as a small concentric coil.
It would kill my shoulders more than they are now.
Looks like very big coverage for large areas...
