Sunray X1 Probe pics?

I have found that it is great with lead on outside as I can now change coils way faster and easier.Personally would not want it any other way.

Do you stick it in your pocket, or does it come with a sheath that goes on your belt. I have the sunray pointers on my EXII and DFX, but was considering the uniprobe headphones for one of my other machines. What sort of range do you get on coins/ rings? Thanks.
Best regards,
Keith

Range is pretty good. You can get up to 3 or 4 " on a Large coin. The threshold dial can be set to reach out there or turn it down and still get a couple inches.

the headphones. Does the headphone set up switch between the probe and the detector? That would sure take care of a lot of interference between the two...

The toggle you see in the pic turns the probe on and blanks the machine. You hear the probe in the headphones till you toggle back to machine.
If there is interference from your machine just turn the Frequency knob to dial it out.

I have to say that once you have a X-1 you will not even care about the coil wire.

I have used my S-1 on my Soverign for 10 years. I would feel naked without it. In fact it makes my heart race to think about hunting without it. :look:

I just ordered a new SE pro and told the dealer that I will not pick it up until he has the probe for it. So here I wait. :look:

Well, I made the plunge today and ordered an X-1, I can't wait to put it to use. I think the deciding factor was my inability to pinpoint a pull tab giving off a good signal this past weekend. I wasted so much time and dug multiple deep plugs only to finally find it to the side of one of my holes. Talk about frustration. I don't get a lot of time to detect, so I'd rather spend that time detecting and digging the target! Thanks all for your feedback and responses.

Jai

p.s. Here's a pic of the hole I dug, the :pulltab: was found by the left hand corner, honest! :bouncy:

Woo, got the tracking number via email, due to be delivered next Tuesday the 3rd! No more grave digging for me!

Got m X-1 for my SE yesterday. Went and tried it out this morning.

Very Good addition.

Well, I received my X-1 probe on Tuesday this week, and of course it has been raining afterwork every day! I did go out and buy black zip ties, as well as take black permanant marker to the white mounting tabs. Looks pretty sleek! And yes, to all of you who said it, I'm not so concerned about asthetics as I am about spending less time digging and more time hunting! I haven't even thought about figuring out how to get the coil back in the shaft. I'm hoping to take it out this weekend, I'll post when I do!

Well, It's raining again, but I did manage to hit an old swimming hole I used to goto as a kid. It's basically a sandy beach like area on a river perhaps 12'X 22', so not very big but I had big hopes. I'm sure there is probably more stuff in the water than on the beach, but don't have the gear for that sort of hunting. Nothing too amazing other than hot rocks, slag, and tons of broken glass. Pinpointer rocked for finding stuff. I didn't take pictures of them but I found 3 fishing weights, the small balls you clamp on the line, pinpointer saved me time I am sure.

[attachment 93949 060708Huntpics1.jpg]I have a couple questions about a find, but I'm going to start a new post on it.

[attachment 93950 X-1B.jpg]Here's a pic of m X-1 mounted. I opted for the standard setup rather than the upper shaft. My thinking, I'm going to be pointing the detector and shaft away from the hole so I can see the display, why make the pinpointer on the otherside of the display? This worked out well on Saturday.

[attachment 93951 X-1A.jpg]In case you are wondering, I bought black zip ties before I attached, and I also took black permanant magic marker to the white square zip tie mounts. I'm not complaining or anything, but the zip ties are cheap, not sure why black ones aren't included. I can see why perhaps the white square brackets are still white, they seem fairly unique and getting them in black may be an added expense.
