My silver coin streak is alive. 1941 dime. Five wheats. Tiny silver ring. Coin from Trinidad. Some junk jewelry. One of those finds you ask? The locket. What's it made of? It isn't marked. It had a lot of little black marks on it so I thought gold plated. Took an eraser to those marks and they vanished immediately. Put it on the gold tester. Tests 10K. Rings up around penny. If you examine it closely, you can see it is constructed of two pieces per half. Here is my guess. The inner compartment is brass. The outer shell is gold. Just my guess. It could be very, very, heavy gold plating. I am going to do some more testing. I haven't logged it as a gold find yet but I'm leaning toward doing so. Weight 10.2 grams. Opinion?
