Found a nice sterling ring, and a first, a brass pencil sharpener from Germany. How cool is that? Gene

Never seen a brass pencil sharpener. Nice ring also. Had'nt heard from you in a couple of days glad to see you and your trusty Excall back in action. HH :minelab::thumbup:

Gene way to go. Brass pencil sharpener that is really a unique one. I have never even heard of one before. Your day was better than mine. fishing weights, bottle caps and four whole pennies

Nice Gene, Brass pencil sharpener on the beach??, wonder how old that is?

The Germans have reputations for building to last and the sharpener is evidence of that! Many generations of use would never wear out the body of it and with careful sharpening the blade would keep many pencils sharp for a long, long time!

Great find!!

PS Nice ring too!;)

Hi Gene, Nice finds. I notice that the sharpener blade is held in by a Phillips head screw. I dont know how long they have been in use in Europe, but it could be a clue as to the age or youth of the sharpener.
