I have been looking to update and just wanted to know if there is a big difference.
Yes, there is big difference in so many ways. The V3i is more adjustable, and is multi frequency. I can make a list of the differences but I'm not going to. Your questions a vague enough that you need to do some reading of the manuals before you decide anything.
Yeah I know my questions is somewhat vague. I have been reading ''some'' and watching vids , and didnt want to ask Whites but a real world test from people that use the every day.I just wanted a place to start from in my head, and asking people like you was the beast for me.
Is it any better at nickels ,some gold rings and pull tabs .
In certain conditions yes, and in others no. The 6000 has a super accurate meter.
I have a 6000 di pro and a 6000 sl, and a older coinmaster. I do like them ,and i never liked the LCD screens till the color ones came out . .
I have been hunting for a long time .early 80's maybe even the late 70's .Got my 6000 new I have found lots of nickels , gold rings and a lot of tabs, But we all know telling the difference in some cases are a little hard to do. Does the Spectra V3 / V3i / VX3 make it any easier.
It depends on what you mean by easier.
I use to pass up most tabs ''for years'' but dig a lot now. in 4 weeks an hr. or 2 a day I have dug 32 nickels and 2 gold class rings That I know 10 years ago I would have been lazy and passed them up. with the 3 frequencies can you narrow in a little better. or is it just better to dig most all .
I have found some deep coins with the 60000 But just wanted to know how much better if any they are.
I have had a 6000 for me the V3i is better. How much better no one can say. It depends on your style of hunting, what you are looking for, and where you are looking. The answers will be biased on the V3i forum because most people who own a detector think their detector is best. I got in trouble the last time I answered a question like yours. Think about this question," which is better a horse or a mule and how much better?" As I said, it depends what you need it for.
