Great finds, but i just went and typed in Metal Detecting in Spain , you might want to check it out. Guess the luck has been with you over the last 15 years. Wait a go!!!!:usaflag:

Nice loot blacksander, glad you didn't get to my end or did you(things have been bleek lately )

Its only ilegal in Andalucia, but even there you can apply for a permit, takes a long while and you might no get it in the end

To find a virgin beach ... wow! Guess I need to figure out how to get more vacation time and how to get the detectors and a few cloths into two suitcases plus a carry on ... I could but ... but the better half doesn't pack lite.

This tells me it is illegal or pretty hard to do on the cuff on Spanish beaches:

Read under Spain.

This also explains your huge killing on the beaches over there most likely.

No bobby pins and bottle tops yes a couple of the lads dug loads but they don`t take photos of the trash just the goodies as for the detecting in spain is illegal cant belive people are still reading that piece put together in 1989 about import licences we have never been ask to provide anything by the local police or civil guard infact a couple of times the local police have asked us how we have done then laughed if we have only a few euro. The people putting it about it is illegal are the ones who come out to spain and want it all for themselves. Hope this clears it up. Also to answer Roscue 2 `s question this is not a huge amount we usually have double that amount when we go but down to the credit crunch there is not the same amount of people going on vacation so no people no losses.

I live here in spain and can asure you whats in that link is crap, its as blacksander says, as to the importation bit, this was made up by a certain dealer trying to stop people buying on the internet at cheeper prices and hence sealing the market for himself.

The only part of Spain where detecting is prohibited(apart fron arqui sites and Bic zones) is Andalucia, in which permits are sometimes given. I detect at least 3-4 times a week, usually in the early hours after the people have left and before the sand cleaners, quite often i am visited by both the local police and the Guadia civil as drug runners use dark beaches to get their stuff in. I have even been on the TV news.

By all means keep reading those misinformed webs and abide, more for me and blacksander

Blacksander i have also noticed the crisis with holidaymakers and even the locals not taking too much to the beach but a lot of it is due to the new beach machines,(here anyway) they don't even leave the fagends and pulltabs, good thing they stay on the dry sand only

Question: Do you think all that gold, silver, and platinum will pay for your trip costs?? Any idea how much it's worth all together??? How many grams of each metal??

It's really messed up how people put bogus info on the web in order to keep everything to themselves. Can't believe I fell for it.I'm gonna have to get out there someday.
