its about 1 1/2 or 2 acres total with bldngs etc
its now a non demoninational church ..after
2 yrs of seeing it every day i asked thepastor and his wife if
I could :detecting: they said sure no problem

YES!!!!!!!!!! Just me noone nobody else.. call me selfish ...
I can literlay spend the rest of this year at least and never be close
to covering it all.. and i can be home for lunch every day too !!!

Seriously Im excited .. I may go for a bit after i eat and feed the dog..

all theyask is that i show them anything that may be Historical. .I told
them that isnt a problem .. they saidthey undersatnd that
Catholic items would be something id want to keep ..

Gosh Ron,

I can just see in my minds eye, all those little towheaded
boys playing tag after church with those silver quarters and
walking liberties in thier pockets. Or Mom dragging the
kleenex out of her purse and spitting on it before she wiped
the candy off thier mouths, meanwhile dropping other
goodies. Your gonna be rich and famous! LOL. Warm
regards, Jim

Sweet!!!! We want pictures of anything you find Ron!!!!!!! I'm getting my detector within a week! We'll have to start buddy hunting!!!:twodetecting:

:usaflag:Sounds like fun...and not to rain on your parade...but I would walk in there expecting to find nothing, so that when you do start finding stuff...well..you know what I mean. Too many times I have been disappointed.. Have a great hunt and find lots so we can see some pic's.

Gotta get a plan..since its across the street
time isnt an issue ...
Im thinking of taking golf tees and marking off
10 ft x 10 ft areas more or less

hit it with the GTI in a few different directions then
come back with the ACE and sniper coil...

?????? sound Ok ???

MODE coins or jewerly?? there will be some trash im sure
but not like a park or tot lot ...

Wow! Wish we all had it handed to us on a plate! I guess it just goes to show that we sometimes don't see what is in front of our eyes.

Oldranger I'll pray that you have good luck:detecting::cheers:

Do some inquiries and find out where they might have held an outdoor rummage sale, church social, or whatever and increase your odds.

It shouldn't be too trashy so I would give the jewelry mode a try. You will still bang on the coins and the jewelry, of course will ring right up. May be some old foil gum wrappers that chime in on the jewelry mode but you should have some pristine ground to hunt.
Heck, if the signals are few and far between you just may take the plunge and go "all metal".
