I was out today pounding the parks, and ran across this scenario depicted in the picture. One of my places that I like to hit is gravel parking lots, especially after a rain. This image shows why a smaller coil can be an advantage with trashy areas. The separation between the bottle cap and the coin was about 1/2 the diameter of the coil, in this case i was using the 5.3 coil, and was curious just how good the separation was. What I learned was the V3 readily distinguished between the two targets, and pinpointed the coin w/out any interference from the bottle cap. I can't praise the 5.3 coil enough, it really is a great coil for trashy spots, I've been pulling coins from spots I've hunted before, but with the better separation I can pick coins from the midst of the trash, stuff I know I've missed before. Picked a dime next to a pulltab today too, about 3 inches down.
