Somebody make sens [itivity] of all this for me...

I'M NOT A NEWBIE TO THE HOBBY BUT I HAVE TO ADMIT AT FIRST GLANCE THE EX II WAS LIKE DEALING WITH A ROCKET. I'M LEARNING DAILY,FINDING, AND HOPEFULLY WILL PICK UP NEEDED EXP INFO FROM THIS FORUM. JUST WANTED TO SAY THANKS EARLY.

Hi Cody,
Thanks for the honest 'I don't know' reply. I've asked the question here before and never got a positive yes or no answer then either. Thought maybe with all the more technical types here now, I would try again.
I didn't mean to suggest that I am in any way a noob on the Explorer. I've had 4 years of great experiences and terrific finds with it.. and it's showing the wear and tear of every season I've had her! I have a setup that works great for me in the places I hunt. Clear screen-ferrous...but that's just me... I like to hear what's under the coil.
But when it comes to the inner workings of the sensitivity settings, well that's more esoteric than an external adjustment. I can't tell whether the semi-auto sens circuitry is overriding my setting in cleaner, mineral free ground conditions. That was my only quandry. I do apologize if this question led to any bickering on anyones part.
IMHO no one stays a noob for long and even the deepest of tech discussions will make sense after half a season swinging an Ex, ExXS, ExII or Quatro. Thank Guv for archives...
Thanks again Cody
Tom

I have calmed my self down a little tonight and Ive spoken with MR Varmit on the phone, who is a Gentleman and a Scholar and I explained myself on my behalf of trying to help the new Explorer users maybe understand things at a not so technical level and he also explained his views to me as well and I think we both are on the same path so togeather we will spread the Minelab Gosple LOL. A phone conversation, or meeting in person, usually proves our love for this hobby overrides the opposing views we might sometimes have when we post. It's too bad there is so many miles between us all. If there wasn't, I could open up a can of Northern Explorer whoop-a$$ on you all
PS Cody, I'm just starting to get over the flu myself. Brutal! I hope your mother? made it through without contracting it.
