Somebody Broke Into My Car Last Night...... :punch:

I got up this morning and went to get into my car for work, when I noticed by glovebox open and a map on the floor. Yes....someone had broken into my car again. Luckily, it was already a mess (my doing), so they didn't get my vibraprobe. But they did take about $0.60 in change, an old jacket I bought for $4.00 at Value Village and a pair of sweat pants. I got off easy this time. My SONY headphones did go missing though.

Just a reminder to keep valuables out of your car overnite, and a messy car discourages thieves from further snooping. :)

I'm sad to hear of your misfortune. I always remove anything I want to use ever again from my truck before dark. We live in sad times. I have a camera mounted on the side of my house pointing at my truck. (Shhh. It's not connected.) In 3 years no trouble at home. In the same period my truck was robbed at work which is two doors down from the police station.

Chris

You'll get the change back when you go the "Crack City."

Sorry to hear this happen to you. These idiots will break in if they see a nickel laying on the dash.:ranting:

sorry to hear that John. I had thieves bust out an expensive window in my chrysler to get a 5 dollar radio i bought at a flea market that didnt work.I never leave anything visable anymore in the car regardless of its value.

I can't stand thieves. They are the scum of the earth:ban:

Man that pisses me off!!!! I'm glad the didn't break anything or steal anything too valuable. I had a thief break into my Camero a few years ago, they stole my radio, but to speed the process up, they used a crowbar on my dashboard. The radio was $300, but the dash and trim. wound up costing $1,000 for a new one and installation. They also cut the wires after the connection, so I had to get that rewired.

There isn't many things that I hate in this world, BUT I HATE THIEF'S!!!!!!

When I was growing up I lived in a high crime area near Detroit. People couldn't keep their cars from being broken into. My dad never left ANYTHING of value in the car and always left the doors unlocked. He knew people went through the car, but no window were broken. He never had a car worth bragging about either. We were lucky to even own a car. My dad was pretty street smart. He grow up with street gangs and chopped up a few people. He is a hard man to describe. He is tough and still scares people. He still scare me.

Back when I was a pup fender skirts on cars were the rage and also a big draw for thieves who were always stealing them. So we all started taping razor blades to the bottomedges of the fender skirts. Thefts dropped dramatically as puddles of blood increased. We also used to wire our cars to shock anyone who touched them.

Here at home our dog deters any thefts as our cars are parked in the driveway right next to the house.. When she barks she sounds like she weighs 400 pounds.

Yeah ain't nothing safe anymore. Here they are stealing gas by drilling holes in gas tanks, stealing catalytic converters off cars, stealing bronze and copper statues, stealing guard rails from the highways, stealing anything of metal from cemetaries, stealing copper from new homes.. Their ain't no end to it, but then there are no penalties. If kids get caught stealing they get a slap on the wrist and sent home to momma and poppa. When I was a kid you went to Reform School. We needto bring those back.

Bill

In the old days they hung or shot thieves. Too bad that isn't around today. But we live in a country of whiny, weinie, wimp, pansies.

I always thought it would be neat if someone put a live rattlesnake in a box and wrapped it up like a nice gift and left it in their car in plain sight....Jack

Sorry to hear that John. Fortunately they probably didn't know what the Vibraphone was. We've been on the wrong end of a mini crime waive here as well lately. The house strait across the road from us was finally raided by the police (drugs) 5 weeks back. Ever since, it's seems to be open season on the street for burgs eta.
Mick Evans.

That's rotten luck John,
The worst thing is that it makes you suspicious of everyone around you.
Good job they didn't know what a vibraprobe was.
They need a wee taste of Hitler, line them up against a wall and shoot the lot.

Brings back memories, Appelton spots, lakers, cruiser skirts And 4 bars, nosed, decked, lowered and hammered, great machines, and you had to do what you had to do to protect her, razor blades, did the trick, just like you said Bill, and 4 12 volts wired and a hole in the truck for the chain to ground her, just didn't want to forget your rubber mat in the morning. But I suppose now days they'd arrest us instead of the THIEF, thats progress, HA!

Yeah it would be cruel and unusual punishment. It's like when we installed spark plugs in the ends of our tail pipes hooked up to a Model-T coil and a two-way switch and burned all that gas that is wasted going out your tail pipe. Was a beautiful sight at night with a four foot blue flame shooting out twin pipes. Looked like a jet going down the road. They outlawd our toy after a few years. Course nowadays catalytic converters take care of all that wasted gas.

A guy in the thirties invented a carburetor that acheived nearly 100% combustion out of every gallon and got 200 MPG but the oil companies put him out of business fast. His patent is still on file with the Patent Office and anyone can make one. A few have over the years but were quickly bought out by the oil companies.

One thing to consider - a gallon of gas is equal to nearly 20 sticks of dynamite. Do we realize the benefit of all that energy when that gas goes through our cars fuel delivery system and through our engine. I think not.
